Re: Sound Not Working At All - Dummy Output and ALSA config issues
Well I thought this was resolved, but the problem seems to have come back and I have no idea why. I was recording a new song on Ardour using the behringer222 USB interface and it was working just fine. I realized that I had saved the project file to a directory that is different from my usual, so I ...

Sound Not Working At All - Dummy Output and ALSA config issues
Hello, So I have tried just about all the suggestions on how to fix the Dummy Audio Issue, and nothing has worked. I recently upgraded my laptop to Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon version 4.6.7 Linux Kernel 5.4.0-122-generic sudo lshw -short H/W path Device Class Description =================================...

GUI not responding after changing display settings
So I decided to fiddle around with the display settings and changed the resolution. It ended up not using up the full size of the monitor so I tried switching it back to the previous resolution. After trying to adjust, the GUI stopped responding. How do I get the resolution back to the way it was? I...

Re: Battery of Laptop not recognized or charging
So! Via process of elimination, I figured out that it wasn’t software based. I opened up the laptop and unplugged the battery (which was a pain in the butt by the way) and plugged it back in. This helped reset the computer chip or something because when I plugged it back into the AC adapter it start...

Re: Battery of Laptop not recognized or charging
When I run that command, the laptop does in fact “see” the battery but it just says “discharging” as the status. It seems like maybe it is a hardware issue where whatever connects the power to the laptop isn’t working?

[SOLVED] Battery of Laptop not recognized or charging
Hello, I have a brand new laptop that has been working great for about a month. I updated the kernel not too long ago which resulted in me getting a black screen on boot. To fix that, I simply booted into an earlier kernel which allowed me to access the GUI. After doing so, it seems that the laptop ...

Re: Dual-monitor on Cinnamon with NVIDIA Quadro NVS (NV17GL)
So I was having major issues with keyboard lag and a dual-monitor setup. Running Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon, AMD video driver, 4 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD. The keyboard lag didn't start until I tried to use two displays. I searched all over and then decided to follow the info from this thread, which led me to th...

Installing Linux Mint 14 On ASUS Q500A
Hello Everyone, I decided to make this quick post to help those that are in a similar situation as me and can't get LM14 to boot from the disk thanks to the new oppressive UEFI crap. I just bought the ASUS desktop-replacement laptop. Looks very nice, runs smoothly. But seriously, f**k Windows 8. I h...

Re: choppy mouse, touchpad fine
Could it be a USB driver issue? I'm trying to at the very least understand why the issue got fixed for me when I switched USB ports... And I did try doing Caps Lock On/Off. Didn't make a difference. When I moved the mouse to a different USB port the lag magically stopped and I still havent had a pro...

Re: choppy mouse, touchpad fine
I'm having almost the exact same problem. The symptoms are the same, anyway. I'm using a logitech USB mouse and every once in a while Mint, or Cinnamon, or whatever controls the mouse cursor decides that having a smoothly moving mouse is too cumbersome and it goes all laggy. It's weird because somet...

Re: Broadcom BCM43231 (aka WNA3100) detected but no wireless
Update again: I am typing this from my PC with my WNA3100 fully functional. To help others with similar problems, I will post a quick run-down of what I did to get this working: 1. I used a Ubuntu 11.10 disk to locate b43-fwcutter, which was in /pool/main/b/b43-fwcutter. I copied the .deb file to my...

Re: Broadcom BCM43231 (aka WNA3100) detected but no wireless
Update: I have continued trying things out and when trying different .inf files out for the driver to see if the driver was the issue, I got the message: Module could not be loaded. Error was: FATAL: Module ndiswrapper not found. Is the ndiswrapper module installed? I am confused by this because I w...

Broadcom BCM43231 (aka WNA3100) detected but no wireless
I have been able to get Wireless Network Drivers to install the driver for my WNA3100 successfully and it detects the hardware when it's plugged in and when I remove it. (When it's not plugged in WND says hardware is not present) It is safe to say then that the computer is detecting the hardware but...

Wow, thank you for your reply. I was able to boot into the GUI after your tips. Is there a way of making this permanent or has it been fixed by the command change in GRUB?

[Solved] No video signal post boot after install of Mint 13
This is a bit of a story so please bear with me. I was running LInux Mint 12 with almost no issues when I decided I might try to upgrade my video drivers since GNOME would crash periodically. I made a few very minor changes to try to install the new drivers for my radeon card when all of a sudden I ...

Re: HOWTO: Netgear WNA3100 wireless adapter on LMDE (64-bit)
Hey, I just wanted to leave a message here thanking you for this guide. I had spent almost three hours reading guides all over the place but when I used your guide it went perfectly, I had the internet working in less than 10 minutes. Thank you again! I feel like I just scored a touchdown at the Sup...
