broken icons LinuxMint13 Mate

Can someone please help me fix the broken LibreOffice icons on Linux Mint 13 Mate? I have managed to sort out most of the other difficulties I had after moving from 11 to 13 but I still have no working desktop icons for my Office stuff.

I also need to recreate a working desktop icon for LibreOffice. I watched the YouTube video but I'm afraid I can't follow it. Where do I get the icons from? Sorry but I need really basic step by step instructions

Re: Settings manager not working after Mint13 installed

Ok, I started all over again. I downloaded a new live Mint 13 from a new mirror and double checked that the md5sum numbers matched. Then I cleared my /partition to install a clean version from the new USB stick. Assigned the second partition /home and made sure the boot loader was the first, smaller...

Re: Settings manager not working after Mint13 installed

Ok, I decided to start over and make a new USB live os. This time I checked that the numbers matched before installing on my computer. I clicked the middle choice which said overwrite existing Mint 13. All seems ok and I've tried to reinstall things the way I had it before, ie appearance, themes, so...

Re: Settings manager not working after Mint13 installed

Ok, just tried it again following your instructions but get same 'no such file or directory' message. I have an Asus Eee Pc 1000 which uses 2 internal hard disks which are dva and dvb partitions. The first, smaller disk is my "/" partition and has the linux 13 os on it. The second, larger disk is my...

Re: Settings manager not working after Mint13 installed

I did the reinstall of the daemon but still have the grey band at the top of the screen.....and the 'unable to run etc.' message. On top of everything else my keypad won't switch off even when my mouse is connected and it does all kinds of weird things if I accidently touch it while I'm typing despi...

Re: Settings manager not working after Mint13 installed

I cannot seem to find the md5sum number by following the instructions since they are not written for non experts. I don't know what to type into the terminal. I have tried to put the linux mint 13 description and it says no such file found. Any other ideas? I did see that number when I was messing a...

Re: Think I installed Mint 13 wrong!! [Solved]

Thanks to the help of the kind people on this forum I have now managed to sort out the partitions and get Mint 13 installed! So far everything seems to be working except I can't switch off my touch pad ( I use an external USB mouse) which is annoying. I haven't tried to put any of my photos or data ...

Re: How To Wipe Drive

Ummm, both of these disks are internal on my little EeePc 1000. I don't have anything external to unplug. Unless there is some procedure you can recommend to do it? Also I'm wondering if these are really different drives or are they the famous partitions you all keep talking about? Although when I h...

Re: How To Wipe Drive

I did that before but chose overwrite all versions and ended up with the Linux installed on both drives but the computer only seems to use the smaller one which appears to still have the first version I installed on it. Any ideas on how to make the larger drive the main one?

Re: How To Wipe Drive

I seem to have two disks on my EeePc 1000 and I have managed to install Linux Mint 13 32 on both of them and now I need to start over again. My computer seems to only use the smaller of the disks which leads to memory problems. I am looking at gParted on my system and it would appear that I have 2 h...

Re: Think I installed Mint 13 wrong!!

Umm, am trying to follow your instructions, but your first one is to delete Mint using the live USB.....can you tell me how to do this? Is not obvious to me and am afraid of deleting it off the USB! One other thing. I am looking at gParted on my system and it would appear that I have 2 hard disks......

Re: Think I installed Mint 13 wrong!!

Ok, here's what it comes up with exactly when I click on my computer:

A hard drive icon which is labeled: 32GB Hard Disk: 31 GB Filesystem
and a second Hard drive icon which says: File system (which is the 8.1 GB one which it seems to use as a default)

Re: Think I installed Mint 13 wrong!!

Ok, let me try to answer as best I can. Yes, I have Linux install on an 8gb usb stick. My computer seems to be working ok now on the first install I did since it uses the first password for the login. After I told it to use MATE for the sessions it seems to be ok. However, when I explore my computer...

Think I installed Mint 13 wrong!!

I have an EeePC 1000 on which I installed Mint 11 last year thanks to help from you all....and have learned recently that it is now obsolete. I have spent the last 3 days trying to backup my data and install Mint 13. Again thanks to lots of help, I finally managed it....I thought. However, when I tr...
