Re: Remove icons from desktop--Cinnamon

Have same issue in Cinnamon. I've used the Cinnamon desktop to try and get rid of them but they persist. Any ideas? Will this be fixed in 14.1?

A little surprised at these glitches.

Re: WIFI disconnects

Is anyone out there? This is a huge problem for some us. I'm not particularly computer savvy and would like some assistance. Wifi works fine and seems to stop. I then disconnect and reconnect and am back in business. I get about 5-10 minutes of working time before it stops. What's up with this. I wa...

Re: WIFI disconnects

Same issue. Mint 13 on dual boot Dell XPS 502. Intel wireless card. Will work for a while then simply stop. Says there is a DNS problem. If I turn the wireless off (the gadget on the panel indicates it's working) and then on, it work again. Windows 7 has no such problem. Is there a simple fix to thi...

Re: Improving Cinnamon

Panel size is a huge issue for those of us with vision problems. Ultimately, I can forsee a time when I won't be able to use Mint Cinnamon, though I like the set-up.

It would seem a relatively simple fix, for other distributions (Ubuntu), as well as microsoft's, and apples have this convenience.

Re: Log out, Log-in Problem:

Having a conversation with myself. I managed to figured out that I needed to go to the login window application. I fixed the problem there, though the themes provided are not particularly inspiring. I now can sign in using the password and have disabled the timed automatic signin that seems ridiculo...

Re: Log out, Log-in Problem:

Is this just my installation? Does the log-out log-in function work as expected for you?

Many thanks

Log out, Log-in Problem:

Installed Cinnamon, appears to work well on my Dell XPS 502. When I log out, however, I am told that program will automatically log in in 10 seconds. There doesn't seem to be a way to stay on the log out screen. If I click the language or any of the other two buttons the login time goes to 30 second...

Re: Updates on fresh Mint 12 install fail

Thanks it may be a residue from the upgrade from Ubuntu. I'll try a fresh install when mint 13 is released.

Re: Updates on fresh Mint 12 install fail

Same problem. When I do and update or sudo apt update, I get many failed to fetch (see below). Couldn't figure out how to attach a file--the forum wouldn't allow. Have tried the fix the fail to fetch problem by using the tip in this link==http://www.webupd8.org/2011/11/add-ppa-bug-work-around-for-li...

Re: Problems with Cinnamon

I'm new at Mint, used Ubuntu previously in addition to Mac and PC over the years. if you are going to base launching and access to everything on your panel then readability is essential. To me Cinnaon is the most usable dist of Ubuntu/Mint distributions I've found, except that the panel is barely re...
