Re: How to set up boot from USB?

Hi and welcome to the forum. To run Linux Mint using USB drive, you can try Universal USB Installer to make your USB bootable. 1. Download any Linux Mint ISO from the website http://www.linuxmint.com. I would recommend Cinnamon edition 64 bit for first try. 2. Download Universal USB Installer from h...

Re: Installation disk

For usb drive, you could also use Universal USB Installer. I found it very effective and also it works on different linux OS also.

All you need is this program and your downloaded Linux Mint 17.1 ISO.

Re: Software rendering mode?

Try to check for any required video driver by using Additional Driver in Linux Mint 14 or Driver Manager in Linux Mint 15. Just check the menu for those names and see if any other driver is needed to be installed in the system.

Re: [SOLVED] How to check ink levels in canon pixma ip2700

I agree with you on that one. This driver is seriously expensive for such a cheap printer. Anyway, as long as i get the printer to run on this linux mint and are able to print some documents it should be fine. The provided driver from the Canon website should do the trick.

Re: Support for Acer Aspire One?

Hi AlbertP, thanks for the reply and your help. I've installed LM 13 MATE inside my pendrive just to be in the safe side. I've installed both Broadcom STA driver and the Cedar Trail drm as suggested by the Additional Driver program. The graphics did improve and the wireless light indicator on my net...

Re: Very slow download in apt-get

Check out Apt-Fast.. Its a replacement of apt-get: http://www.webupd8.org/2010/01/new-apt-fast-version-now-with-full-full.html It uses Axel to accelerate download.. I used this to speed up my package update or to install any big programs in linux. You can also modify your software sources list so th...

Re: How to check ink levels in canon pixma ip2700

Erm, i think i can use INK to check the ink levels for my printer. I deleted the installed printer driver, update my system and then reinstall the Canon printer driver and then when i try to use INK again, that is "ink -p usb", it works! So far everything is ok. I'm just curious is there a...

Re: How to check ink levels in canon pixma ip2700

Thanks for the reply. But the thing is that this Turboprint requires us to purchase the license in order to pass the trial license, and based on the payment needed to get one of this license, it is rather expensive. I'll try it first to see if it is working or not. I'll post the results of my testin...
