Re: Cannot stop notification that has appeared!
Correction - I'm using LibreWolf for this profile - which is a Firefox clone so notifications does not exist in settings. So I have done the following: 1. Restored the browser profile to 2 months ago and re-imported latest bookmarks backup (already done before I received your email) 2: about:config ...

Cannot stop notification that has appeared!
LM20 Firefox browser I recently visited an online TV website. Since then notifications of "latest news" headlines have appeared early each day at around 8am in the notifications tray (bottom screen) and occasionally at the top of the screen. I have disabled notifications in settings - but ...

Re: Wide screen display resolution missing in LM 20.3
I have now made this work. For some reason when I installed the Guest LM20.3, I cannot remember a prompt to install the Guest Additions. I have now installed these, and several restarts later - the auto-resize screen option, which was hitherto greyed out, is no longer greyed out and the wide screen ...

Re: Wide screen display resolution missing in LM 20.3

How to stop system report reminders
I am now being reminded 10 times a day on all my systems and Virtualbox guests that I need to upgrade my LM 19.3. OK, so I've got the message! Can someone tell me how to stop these, (now annoying) reminders permanently? I cannot see a way from the menu in System Report itself.

[SOLVED] Wide screen display resolution missing in LM 20.3
In an LM 20.3 install in Virtualbox, I can find the display for 16:10 which is 1920x1200, but not the option for wide screen which is 1920x1080. This option was available in LM 19.3, but does not appear to be available in 20.3! Oddly - it is available in LM 21.1 - but there are other reasons why I c...

Re: VirtualBox 6 default availability
Karl - looks like a reasonable answer to me. Thanks. I'll just continue what I have been doing which is to manually install VBox 6.1.

VirtualBox 6 default availability
In Mint 19 the default version of VirtualBox (VB) is v5. There have been too many issues with v5 - so I have had to install VB 6 myself - as it appears not to be available in Software Manager.
In which version of Linux Mint will VB 6 (or 6.1) be made available by default?

Re: Google Mpas 3D no longer available/working in Firefox
What version FF are you running? Have you tried to run it without Addons? (Menu/Help/Restart with addons disabled) Windows users can also use FF so it it unlikely they are trying to ignore Linux users. More likely they would like everyone to use their own browser but they know that won't happen. Co...

Re: Google Mpas 3D no longer available/working in Firefox
Hi, Just to be clear. The 3D button has disappeared from satellite views and there is now a link at the bottom of the map display saying "3D earth view is not available" I'm using LM 19.3 with all updates (including kernels) and Firefox 83.0. Firefox without Addons - the 3D feature is stil...

Google Maps 3D no longer available/working in Firefox. LM19.3 FF83.0
Google have introduced new maps on which the 3D feature no longer works on Firefox. A link at the bottom of the screen takes you to a website which states that the Firefox / Linux environment is no longer supported! It does work on Chromium - but I don't trust Chromium and if I try to use a proxy wi...

This is a little better - but I don't want the logo either! Is it possible to download the blank screen version of this?

Re: Workspace Switcher sound issue
Hi, I'm running LM 18.3. The applet is called "Workspace Switcher" and it is making a noise every time I switch. As far as I can remember it did not do this in (correction) 17.2. I am switching workspace by pointing and clicking in the workspace display in the bottom panel.

Looking for the blank screensaver
I recently installed Mint 18.2 and cannot find the blank screensaver from the screensaver list. Trouble is, when I have finished using my PC I do not want to continue to see any kind of moving image on my screen as I continue to work at my desk. This is distracting. I just want the screen to go comp...

Workspace Switcher sound issue
Hi,
The Workspace Switcher in the panel, in Cinnamon - makes a noise every time I swap to a new workspace. I cannot find any config setting to stop this. I can keep turning the sound volume down - but this is annoying as I need sound for some things. Any ideas? This was not a problem in 17,3.

Re: Issue with Mint Update. dpkg was interrupted
Hi,
Thanks. It looks like the dependency is sorted, leaving just the error below now:

Issue with Mint Update. dpkg was interrupted
Hi, I've posted here as there seems no other better category. I installed a printer driver and that appears to have broken the Mint update. Now when I try to do a refresh, I get a series of errors. I have tried to follow another post as far as I can but my issue is still not fixed. I need a solution...
