Re: Mint 17.2 No Tablet Detected (wacom) [Kernel 3.19 issue]

To Clarify.. I'm not moaning that the tablet doesn't work.. it does. I'm saying that the GUI tool in system settings, Graphics Tablet says "No tablet detected" when the tablet works fine and I can configure it using the terminal xsetwacom tool. I'm saying the GUI tool broke because I chose to upgrad...

Re: Mint 17.2 No Tablet Detected (wacom) [Kernel 3.19 issue]

3.16 does not offer kernel support for the Xbox One controller, so far as I'm concerned downgrading again isn't an option. I dont see why the GUI tool shouldn't just work with the newer kernel anyway. The tablet works fine, it's just the GUI tool. xsetwacom in terminal works and I remapped the table...

Mint 17.2 No Tablet Detected (wacom) [Kernel 3.19 issue]

Edit So I rebooted back in to the older 3.16 kernel and the GUI became available again, so I'm wondering now if I can get this working with 3.19 because I'm using it for additional support for xbox one controller. Hello.. I didn't notice until today but for whatever reason when I go to preferences ...

Re: Nemo unresponsive + huge memory usage (Mint 17.2)

Noticed this just today now as well, unclear if it was just always happening, but after approx 14 days of uptime Nemo using over 1GB RAM and became unresponsive which bought it to my attention - restarted it and it begins with about 28MB of RAM use, this has climbed over last 10 minutes to over 55MB...

[SOLVED]cinnamon 1.6 right click open with custom app

det4100 Thank you for the reply. After some digging around, the "solution" for me seemed to be as follows. Adding the item in the menu, by right clicking the menu -> edit menu, and adding the executable path and such to a new entry in the desired category. This creates a .desktop file in ~/.local/sh...

Re: Two panel layout FTW!

In old gnome, I had two panels, but I had them both at the top. This was optimum for me, but doesn't seem possible with latest cinnamon / mint 14

Re: [NO BODY KNOWS]cinnamon 1.6 right click open with custom

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have these buttons. Installing app-install-data allows the program to search on-line for application to install to deal with said file. This is not what I want :( I have the applicaion right here on the desktop that I want to associate with this file type, and Cinnamon w...

Re: Security type question

Sounds like the normal kind of "background noise" of the internet to me, nothing of great concern. Make sure you choose decent passwords - remember length is more important than using upper / lower case and numerics and stuf like that, so long as you're not choosing words from the dictionary. https:...

Re: I have a desktop icon but want it in the start menu

Right click the menu, go edit menu and add new entry in the category of your choice. You can probably get the correct commad to start the program from the existing shortcut, or just use terminal to look it up

Re: Mint 14 Cinnamon > Theme: Class Mint > Status Icon too b

maybe, in the panel menu, did you try selecting option for "Use customised panel size" and also the "allow cinnamon to scale panel and text and icons according to the panel heights" option?

Re: How To Add the Panel In the second Monitor (Dual Monitor

Far as I know with TwinView you have the choice of making one monitor be the "primary Display for X screen" and this is the one that gets the panel. I have not found a way to have panel span both monitors, or have separate one on each. Look nvidia settings in the menu for these options. It takes a b...

[SOLVED (ISH)]cinnamon 1.6 right click open with custom app

The right click open with dialogue gives only option to choose from installed applications, or search web, which is basically useless for any compiled software or that which is downloaded as binaries and not meant to be "installed" as such. This basic feature should be a gimmie, to add a custom appl...

Re: Mate vs. Cinnamon

You should use what you like, of course. I like cinnamon. I use MATE for quite a long time and recently just thought to give cinnamon a try with fresh install and it's very nice. Looks better than MATE and feels just as smooth and snappy. There is only 1 thing that bothers me about it and I'm sure i...
