Cinnamon Calendar Applet Doesn't auto update the time

Hi I just installed Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon. Everything seems to work fine except for the time. The applet doesn't auto the time. As you can see on the screenshot, the date/time app and the settings for the calendar is the correct time, but the time at the bottom left isn't. I can update to the curre...

Re: User’s $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored

so the above didn't work. However, I think I know why it doesn't work. Its because my newly created partition that is holding my home is actually in NTFS. This is what I want because I want to be able to swap my files easily with windows as well. I read somewhere saying NTFS doesn't support permissi...

[Solved] User’s $HOME/.dmrc file is being ignored

I'm getting this error everytime I boot up. At first I was trying to move my Home folder to a different partition. I followed this tutorial I found here: http://embraceubuntu.com/2006/01/29/move-home-to-its-own-partition/ I believe it worked fine, but now I keep getting this error everytime I boot u...

Re: No GRUB Install During Maya Install

I had this issue too. I found out that the bootloader was actually installed in my other hard drive. When I changed the bios to boot from that drive, the Grub was there. I could choose Mint and Windows from there and it worked fine.

Try changing the bios setting if you have a 2nd physical drive.

Great news. I've been waiting on this since I decided to use Linux as my main OS. Can't wait to get home tonight and get it going.

Re: How does Linux Mint compare to Windows XP performance-wi

Do you mean revert to windows only, or lose the windows bit and have linux only? I actually meant to lose the windows to only have Linux. Is that possible? Also another thing, I was actually thinking how would LibreOffice compare with MS Office. I loaded up LinuxMint on a USB and played around with...

Re: How does Linux Mint compare to Windows XP performance-wi

Thank you for the information.

I think I'll do the dual boot for now until I am more familiar with Linux. Is it possible to change the dual boot to single boot later on? I'm not a fan of dual booting and multiple partitions.
