Re: Change Launcher on Menu

Hi, it's easy - just drag the menu items to the area, or right-click the menu items and click "Add to favourites". You can remove the icons by dragging them out of the favourites box.

Re: Change Icon size in cinnamon panel

You'll need to edit the theme file (cinnamon.css). It's usually under Home/.themes/<theme-name>/cinnamon if you install themes via Cinnamon Settings. First, open it in any text editor you like, then search for "#panel" (don't include the quotation marks). Under that section, you will see a...

Re: Can I Change/Override a specific icon from theme in home

Uhmm... Actually, the colourful icons are not from the themes, but from the applications, because those themes don't provide the icons for the applications. You can simply use another theme instead. Mint-X is based on Faenza, and Faenza has many variants, with both light and dark panel icons, so tha...

I think they're not localized yet, because they are quite new. I'm using UK English and Cinnamon Settings still show "Color" :)

Re: Turn off HotCorner using command line?

You can use dconf Editor (package name: dconf-tools) to change this.
Search for overview-corner (it's under org - cinnamon), then change all the values to false.
Done! :D

Re: volume control icon is missing

Hi, I think you can add the applet "Sound" to your Cinnamon panel. It should have been there by default.

Re: Panel icon gone too big (cinnamon)

You can try this: Go to Cinnamon Settings (System Settings for Cinnamon 1.8 or above) - Panel - Use customized panel size - Allow Cinnamon to scale panel texts and icons.

Re: Cinnamon: Cinnarch Linux is reborn as Antergos

Hmmm, lately I also tried Antergos. The preview desktop is Gnome 3, but I chose Cinnamon. Although I have a slow Internet connection, the installation was very quick. I rebooted and everything worked as it should - both Cinnamon and preinstalled programs. I have one problem though - Windows 7's boot...

Re: Different core versions Mint 13 vs Ubuntu 12.04

I think it's all right :) I use Xubuntu with Cinnamon and kernel updates seem to do no harm to my computer. You can lock the kernel package in Synaptic, by choosing linux-generic and select Package -> Lock Version.

Re: Different core versions Mint 13 vs Ubuntu 12.04

Kernel updates are considered "unstable" by Linux Mint, so these updates are hidden by default. You can enable level 4-5 updates in mintUpdate to show them, or use Synaptic to mark all updated packages.

Re: Clear type text and trash bin

To activate antialiasing (ClearType), go to Cinnamon Settings - Fonts - Antialiasing: Rgba. You can also try different fonts to see which one looks best. Also you can try different hinting options. To show Trash on desktop (is that what you mean?) go to Cinnamon Settings - Desktop - Show the trash. ...

2. In the Chrome browser. Just move your mouse back and forth over the close tab button when in the Mint Forum. Do you see some graphical disruptions in the tab? I use Chromium and had always had graphical glitches on Linux, be it Arch, Ubuntu or Mint. I have Intel graphics. Recently, on Xubuntu 13...

I pretty much agree with you. Cinnamon needs more extensions and desklets (sorry, I'm too dumb to make one :) ). Right now there are only 2 desklets, apart from 3 default ones. And I think why desklets when you can use screenlets, conky... There is only a dozen of extensions, and many of them are ou...

I've been installing my fonts by copying them into Home/.fonts. It always works for me, except for root applications (because the fonts are only shared to myself).

Re: Linux Equivalent to Microsft's ClearType Application?

I think setting Aliasing to RGBA is enough. I prefer it over ClearType, which makes it impossible to use other fonts in Windows 7 :D
You can try some fonts to see which look best to you. IMO the default font (Sans) looks too "fat", so I use Droid Sans, size 9 - small but looks very elegant.
