Video editing with OpenShot

Here's a little project I've put together with OpenShot video editor.

I suppose it's a bit of shameless promotion of my band too.

Re: Networking has broken on Qiana (Mint 17)

Well, I did a reinstall, yesterday. Seems to be working OK at the moment.

I'm using the same kernel, headers as the one that broke, and the same ('failed') graphics drivers. The system seems to be working OK. However, after an update on kubuntu, guess what's not working on that OS....

Re: Networking has broken on Qiana (Mint 17)

Hi. Just downloaded the files and copied them across from my kubuntu drive to the mint drive. I then tried to start up Mint and it keeps telling me that it cant start a graphical session - missing xsession and Xsession files, missing drivers and stuff like that. I didn't want to try to install the n...

Re: Networking has broken on Qiana (Mint 17)

OK Guys, fill your boots. I've done the stuff from within both Mint and Kubuntu. DEFINITELY not a USB2/3 thing. The machine predates USB3 so everything is USB2. Also, please remember that Mint won't find eth0 either, so I doubt it's a dongle problem, as both dongles work in Kubuntu (without switchin...

Networking has broken on Qiana (Mint 17)

Hello everybody. I reinstalled Mint 17 yesterday. The reason was it kept hanging during boot.... freezing up with some comment about no network configurations. I scoured the web for info, but it seemed that it wasn't a common problem and so I backed up my files and did a reinstall which worked fine ...

Re: nVidia driver seems to be messing up the filesystem

For all and any who are interested, I've had no filesystem problems since ditching the nVidia proprietary driver. I'm currently dual booting Mint 17 (Qiana) Cinnamon (which I have to say is my favourite release! :D) along with Kubuntu 14.04 Trusty. Neither of these have given me any filesystem troub...

In the words of the great Holly from Red Dwarf.... "Hello dudes!" Just downloaded Qiana and got it up and running. Did the neat little overscan workaround and haven't used the dreaded nVidia driver. Filesystem seems MUCH more stable without it. Let's see how the new girl goes.... 9 June: Not a sing...

Re: Nvidia or Nouveau?

In my opinion, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The nVidia driver caused me a few problems corrupting the filesystem (don't know why, never really got to the bottom of it), but the nouveau driver now works well enough and I'm loathe to change.

Re: nVidia driver seems to be messing up the filesystem

OK, What I've done is this. Because the nouveau graphics driver in Ubuntu doesn't overscan, I've installed Ubuntu 12.04 (which is the same base as Mint 13 where I started having these problems), along with Cinnamon Desktop 2.0. I'm not going to use the nVidia driver, and I'll see how long it takes ...
