Richard

Banshee has a habit of crashing gnome3

Banshee forces my gnome3 desktop to lock up to the extent that all I can do is move the mouse pointer and/or hit ctrl+alt+backspace

Since it doesn't crash out completely it doesn't send any error reports. Is this something that should be reported, does anyone else experience the same issue?

Re: Gnome3: apps with long names, how to view in dash?

This is addressed in mint 12 tips & tricks Ouch. Tool tips would be nice though I know they wouldn't be touch friendly. Definitely a big usability issue that I'm sure someone will address in the future. I'll wait until then :) (for anyone reading, the only way currently is to make your icons huge t...

Interesting. Is it possible to upgrade to the RC, or at least only the kernel (I guess?)

Gnome3: apps with long names, how to view in dash? [Solved]

Hello. As much as I'm loving gnome3 there is a usability issue I keep running into: When you're on the dash board and searching for an app, letters are constricted to the small bounding square box. So a long name like "advanced power settings" would look like "advance..." and blend in with all other...

Re: No sound on new Install - mint 12

I actually already have and used pavucontrol (see original post) and tried turning off the other sound card to no avail. I did however find a smoking hot lead. My problem is I need the right configuration for /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf! My card is listed as an ALC887 but I do not see an alsa sou...

Re: No sound on new Install - mint 12

I'm over Ubuntu at this point :) Unity wasn't my cup of tea and the gnome3 was really buggy/crashy for me. Besides, this is my work computer and I can't keep doing reinstalls unfortunately.

No sound on new Install - mint 12

Hello, I'm a long time ubuntu user that recently switched all of their desktop machines to mint. I was using Ubuntu 12.04 and sound worked great out of the box, but made the switch because the window managers were buggy. Now on linux mint everything worked out of the box except for sound. I've gone ...
