Re: Release: Linux Mint 10 RC
What impresses me is that I've only tested 10 off of the cd, and it's snappy as hell. Do a simple right click and create a new folder...it's instantaneous for me compared with the past.

Re: [Solved] HP All in one scanner not working
JimQ- I just wanted to thank you for this post. I just bought a HP Officejet 6500 and could not get the hplip to install through the HP website. (It says automatic installer on that page, and then has about 12 commands you have to put in, what a joke.) I'm now up and running since I found this post....

Thanks Husse. I currently have a thread open here http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Micr ... #a26512851

Can't use keyboard in Windows 7 after being in Mint
I have windows 7 home premium dual booting with Linux Mint 8, on a Dell XPS M1530. When I shut down linux mint and go back into windows I have the following problem. Upon the windows 7 desktop appearing, I am able to type or use the keyboard as usual-until I touch the touchpad on my laptop. After I ...

Re: Windows 7 & Linux Mint 8
Well that's very encouraging since I've spent hours looking at posts in the ubuntu forums of people who have had everything go wrong with grub 2.

Re: Windows 7 & Linux Mint 8
Ok, so when you loaded Mint 8 it automatically saw your windows 7 install and put in the new grub? And now you can choose between which one at startup?

I did that Husse as well. The playback is just much better in Ubuntu, I'm stumped too but it is. I appreciate all the help.

Re: Can't view certain sites in Mint 6, but can in Ubuntu 8.10
I tried that Husse, and it did not help. I'm in Ubuntu 8.10 now, and for whatever reason the multimedia and google maps, CNN video and so on works alot better. I know it's weird. I love Mint but after a couple months of these problems it became a deal breaker. I still love Mint, and look forward to ...

Re: Can't view certain sites in Mint 6, but can in Ubuntu 8.10
Thanks for the replies. I turned off the firefox settings, but things are the same, even worse. Opening up streetview will shut off the cnn video. I'm using the latest flash as far as I know. Also this site will bring my browser to it's knees. http://www.thenorthface.com/webapp/wcs/stores/se...

Re: Can't view certain sites in Mint 6, but can in Ubuntu 8.10
Hi Husse,
I forgot to mention that I have compiz off, and it does the same thing. Can't view 2 sites at the same time. I tested it again with the Ubuntu cd and I could view multiple flash sites/videos with no problem at all.

Can't view certain sites in Mint 6, but can in Ubuntu 8.10
Ok, this is puzzling. In Mint 6, I can't seem to watch a CNN video and go to google maps streetview at the same time. If I do, one or both will stop working. The same thing happens with any combination of video site and google maps. And 2 video sites at the same time won't work really either. If I d...

Re: CNN video =complete system freeze
I have 10,0,12,36 installed. It just did it again, while I was listening to internet radio. What's worse, is that alt +sysrq REISUB does not work! I had to mash the power button down. Is that a bug in intrepid?

CNN video =complete system freeze
Usually what happens is that the video starts to play fine until it gets to about 1/4 of the way through, and just stops and the image goes black. Today it stopped, and my whole system froze, an unexpected 1st for me unfortunately. Ctrl-alt-backspace did not work as the mouse was also frozen, and I c...

How do I install the latest Banshee?
I have the tar saved to my desktop, but don't know how to install it. I did sudo apt-get and then I did it through the mint software portal. It asked me if I wanted to upgrade and I said yes. But i still have the old 0.13 version.

Happy to report that it now is very smooth. I reinstalled Elyssa and did it through restricted drivers this time. Major major difference.

Re: Super slow compiz on new XPS M1530/ nvidia 8600m gt
When I do reinstall, how do you suggest I install the driver. Last time I did it through envy, so I think I'll stay away from that.
