If you open up a terminal and run Firefox from there, it will report any errors.

I can't remember the last time a site asked to enable flash.
Most OS now will not install flash on new installations although it's available in Software Manager.

I wake up every morning wondering which computer that will be used today.

I run most or have tried most Linux OS and Mint is fantastic. I will never stop using this or that, just use what works for me.

Lucky enough that there is no need for "User Agent Switcher". It seems all the sites I visit are Linux friendly.

If your having issues with Mint, I would suggest by starting to check your HDD for failure first.
Then check memory failure and so on.
