Re: C&C Generals via WINE
rofl I tried for a couple of years to get Generals working in Linux around 2005 - 2007 I could get it to work but multiplayer wouldn't work... and there was no workaround for it at the time... I'm currently looking into it again to see if there is any progress on this... doesn't look like it. It's n...

Re: Mir as a replacement for X windows
obviously there has been no announcement yet (way too early) and I haven't nor expect Clem to say much about the matter until the full ramifications are known/understood and IF it will affect Mint or not.... Personally I doubt Clem will shift Mint to MIR and will keep the tried and true Xorg around ...

Re: Linux Mint 12, and beyond?
So is there any "official" announcement what is happening with Mint 12? is it going to have Gnome2 / Gtk2? (Mate Desktop?) I heard that Debian are porting Gnome-panel over to gtk3/Gnome 3... havn't heard much about that since... but that would be the sensible thing to do if and when it hap...

is Clem missing in action or something? lol.
This debian edition should be pulled off the server because of the Major KMS bug that is present that is affecting the
majority of users..... I would of thought it would be pulled down by now..... it's tarnishing Mint's good reputation..........

Hey All I have seen a few people complain of the same problem I am having with the latest debian edition of mint but i havn't found a Forum post yet.... Re: Gnome or Unity for Mint 11
Who the heck wants a netbook like interface for a Desktop? seriously? It over complicates a simple, straight to the point experience that a Normal UI provides for a Desktop. Maybe i'm wrong... Only time will tell. But in the meantime, the buggy, unuseable state of Unity is putting a bad taste in pe...

Sure. I know they are doing very Well against Novell, redhat and microsoft in the server/cloud wars. I'm glad As for Unity.... it will either Make or Break them on the Desktop.... Judging by the majority of users reactions so far about unity though.... It isn't looking good for them http://ubuntufor...

Re: Gnome or Unity for Mint 11
I agree with ddavid123 I would Really Like to See Mint break away from ubuntu in the Future and be Debian based. Mint blows Ubuntu away in terms of usability and out of the box experience... it really does But Mint really does need to break away from ubuntu and do its own thing... instead of followi...

Re: /tmp
The newest version of flash, "square," is storing the flash files in the .mozilla hidden folder. Something like .mozilla > firefox > your.default > Cache. Also, some flash files are saved in there but are unrecoverable for some reason. I noted this after downloading a long megavideo or wi...

Re: /tmp
I am using 32bit Linux Mint 10 and files do NOT go into /tmp I don't think it is anything to do with Flash. It is something that *buntu has done. Because I am using the latest flash in ArchLinux and files still show up in /tmp but I have seen quite a few people using ubuntu 10.10 mention that they c...

Re: /tmp
No
That is a Tutorial on how to make /tmp hold onto files at boot
/tmp is no longer the directory where it holds on to temporary files such as Flash. It has been changed which
makes that tutorial obsolete
no ideas anybodyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
