Shokz opencomm 2 headset will not pair (Bluetooth)
I have a new headset from Shoks - an Opencomm 2. It works fine with my iPhone, but not with my desktop (which is really what I bought it for). The new headset is not discovered in the Blueman gui. Using bluetoothctl I can see and pair with my old headset, but not with the new one. All help gratefull...

Re: second solid state drive sometimes doesn't mount properly on boot
... no it wouldn't. System hangs during boot. Using advanced options I get a message a start job is running for [uid of my data disk] . However using only this line *seems* to start as normal: LABEL=data /mnt/data auto defaults,x-gvfs-show 0 2 So my questions now are: * Did the entries conflict? Wou...

Re: second solid state drive sometimes doesn't mount properly on boot
looking at this again: /dev/disk/by-uuid/feb0a0f8-d370-49eb-8ba9-216c8c038ed0 /srv/data auto nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0 LABEL=data /mnt/data auto nosuid,nodev,nofail,x-gvfs-show 0 0 Seems that I may be mounting the drive twice? Is this bad? I pointed timeshift to a directory on that partiti...

Re: second solid state drive sometimes doesn't mount properly on boot
The 'main' drive is a mix - it was the installed windows, and still is bootable to windows: Partition 1 (/dev/nvme0n1p1): 105MB FAT mounted at /boot/efi Partition 2 (/dev/nvme0n1p2): 17 MB Microsoft Reserved Partition 3 (/dev/nvme0n1p3): 160GB NTFS (windows partiton) Partition 5: (/dev/nvme0n1p5): 2...

Re: second solid state drive sometimes doesn't mount properly on boot
Sorry, missed this post yesterday. cat /etc/fstab # /etc/fstab: static file system information. # # Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a # device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices # that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5). ...

second solid state drive sometimes doesn't mount properly on boot
Hi all, happy Mint user here. Except that sometimes my second solid drive does not mount properly. Most of the time its fine, but sometimes it mounts read-only, and sometimes it mounts with no files/directories. Other times it does not mount at all. 90% of the time it mounts fine, read-write (which ...

Re: No Bluetooth icon in panel, Bluetooth manager refuses to start - SOLVED
Thanks again Jeremy.
I guess that at my skill level there was nothing I could do except wait for a kernel with the code in it. Makes me feel slightly less inept.
My thanks also to you and all the folk like you making Linux such a great OS.

Re: No Bluetooth icon in panel, Bluetooth manager refuses to start
Thanks for that JeremyB. Sorry I took so long to reply - I didn't get an email notification 'coz it does not seem to add automatically. My bad  . Secure boot was disabled (I think that that was necessary to install Mint?). The magic incantations worked well. I now have Bluetooth icon and bluet...

No Bluetooth icon in panel, Bluetooth manager refuses to start
I have a new dual boot machine. On win 11 the Bluetooth works fine, but there is no Bluetooth icon in the control section of the panel. So I am guessing that this is a driver thing..... The very first time that I ran Mint on the machine there was a Bluetooth icon in the tray, but when I clicked it I...

Re: I keep needing to use timeshift to restore my networking ability
Sure,and thanks sleeper12.
I am not sure what power manager is in these circumstances though - something managing the power delivered to the hardware that does the wifi rx/tx? Will that have implications for battery usage? (I would rather use the battery a bit harder and have internet)

Re: I keep needing to use timeshift to restore my networking ability
Thanks for that Antikythera, How does a person learn about what to edit and why? I feel as a software dev of many years I should (be able to) understand this stuff. (Mainly app development on higher level languages like java/kotlin, but I have served some time on assembler and C/C++). Folk on this f...

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been suffering some other problems with restore from suspend. Unfortunately I get this: drphill@drphill:~$ sudo sed -i 's/3/2/' /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf [sudo] password for drphill: sed: can't read /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-...

Monitor blanks breifly when starting java app *or inxi*
Hi all, I am back to Mint after flirting with Ubuntu. More specifically I want to try LMDE. Very happy so far except for one annoying bug. I am running LMDE with xfce on a Dell XPS13 and using an external LG monitor (mirrored). When I run a java app from the terminal or from the ide the monitor goes...

That did the trick (although fumble fingers missed one. I'll get it next time)
Thanks Jeremy that has tidied up an irritation for me. I am very grateful for your help.
