GPA problem on Mint15

I have a Samsung Series 3 notebook. I have Mint 15 cinnamon 32 bit installed on it. Gnu Privacy Assistant (GPA) gives an error at the start which says General Assuan error. This is probably a bug in GPA. GPA will now try to recover from this error. No keys get listed so gpa becomes useless. The same...

Re: 'Open terminal here' & 'Change Background' cannot be ope

Hello! I uninstalled Nautilus from the system & now 'Open in terminal' & 'Change background' options in the right-click menu are working as usual... Supposedly, Nautilus & Nemo 'fight' to take control of the desktop as LM boots. The link below isn't related to this topic but I thought the same was h...

Re: 'Open terminal here' & 'Change Background' cannot be ope

I think you misunderstood my problem. My problem is that those 2 options in the right-click menu are not working properly as they were few days ago. Is there a way to reset this or something so that they will? Also, Ctrl-Alt-T works on my Mint, it just doesn't open with the current directory set to ...

Re: Newbie GRUB questions

After installing the second distro, run following command :
sudo update-grub
It will look for other OSes on your hard drives & update the grub configuration file acoordingly.
After that, while booting, GRUB should display you all the available OSes to load.

Re: 'Open terminal here' & 'Change Background' cannot be ope

Thanks for the reply. :)
The option 'Open in terminal' comes when you right click anywhere on desktop or in any folder. Its useful because it has the current directory as its working directory but terminal opened using Ctrl-Alt-T doesn't...

Re: New install ,2 separate HDD , 2nd has data on

Linux Mint has NTFS support out of the box. So you can use your data hard disk without any trouble. Just open 'Computer' & there will be an icon representing the data hdd. Double-click the icon to mount it. Thats all!
No need to change anything at all.

Re: How to install Linux Mint on my computer

Or else, you can just mount the downloaded iso file using Daemon Tools ( http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/products/dtLite ) or any other software which can mount ISO files. Then double click your newly mounted drive by going to 'My Computer'. There wil be an option to 'Install inside Windows'. It will...

Re: New hard disk installation, will it affect existing OSes

That is an excellent tip, xenopeek! Thank you very much. :D
I am going to buy the hard disk in next week. I will surely update GRUB after installing new OS. So that I can enjoy my 'triple-booting' system. 8)

New hard disk installation, will it affect existing OSes?

I am currently dual booting Linux Mint 13 with Windows 7. My system consists of Pentium 4 processor, 1 gb ram & Gigabyte motherboard. Im planning to buy an internal hard drive of around 80 gb or something mainly to try different Linux distros. Now my question is, if I disconnect my old hard drive, c...
