Re: Spotify 0.8.4 does not work with Mint 18.1 (x64)
I can't give you much of a solution but don't be too sure that "all dependencies are satisfied" exactly ... backwards compatibility just does not work the same in Linux as it does in Windows. That is, it's almost non existent, as is forward comaptibility BTW. Windows 95 programs will gene...

[SOLVED] Spotify 0.8.4 does not work with Mint 18.1 (x64)
Hi all, I am trying to run an older version of Spotify on Linux Mint 18.1 . The reason that I am trying to run v.0.8.4 instead of recent 1.0.x is the lack of proper filter function in artists' pages. v.0.8.4 works fine with Linux Mint 13 which is based on Ubuntu 12.04. However, even though all depen...

Re: Volume control sound only between 60-100% w LinuxMint 13
Hi there, I know, that is an old thread but the problem is still ongoing for me. As it was pointed out, sound can be heard only between 60-100% with the volume control in Mint 13, 14, 15, 16 (Mate); Mate 1.2, 1.4, 1.6. As I found out that the problem is with "mate-settings-daemon-pulse." I...

Thanks a lot...viking777 wrote:A meta package is like a shopping list, once you have bought all the shopping you can throw the list away because you don't need it any more.
So just go ahead and install what you want to install, it will make no difference to anything.
