Thanks for the help. Firefox 13 simply won't even install flash-aid. :( Tested with Mint 9 (1 machine) and Mint 11 (2 machines), all under Trinity (KDE3). Forgot to mention. By running lsof | grep libflash some tenths of times while trying to load a flash video in Firefox found not a single instance of libflashplayer.so. At the same time there were 4 or 5 defunct instancefs of firefox's "plugin-container" of something like that. Would apprec...

Thank you, oobetimer. Your message was extremely useful in a completely different direction. During my investigation I noticed that flash library was not even in memory. Decided to try flash somewhere else and used the most handy: Konqueror. It happens that Konq won't freeze but would not play video...
