Re: [solved!]setting default display size
It was solved for me with Linux Mint Mate by changing settings Virtualbox Display / Screen / from VMSVGA to VBoxSVGA I got a warning, but it still accepted the change. Then when I reboot I had 1920 x 1080 already automatically detected and selected. (note this problem only seems to affect Mate and n...

mpaste linux mint 17
I keep seeing the feature printed in blogs with the line; MATE 1.8 includes a new mpaste command which you can use to paste text to http://paste.mate-desktop.org But I have no idea what mpaste is or how to use it? Every time I do a google search I get the same line above repeated in a blog post with...

Thank you this is still an issue with Linux Mint 16 Mate, and Kdenlive 0.9.6 but your solution still works.

Re: Assign an app to key shortcut
With Mint 14, the new Mate-Calc V1.4 doesn't show the thousands separator even when the box is ticked in preferences, I read this wont be fixed until version 1.6, which I assume means it's not seen as important. The solution right now is the install Gcalctool V6.6 from the repos, the thousands prefe...

Re: Chrome and Flash issues [solved]
I renamed the folder;
~/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash
to
~/.config/google-chrome/old PepperFlash
and it now works. It seemed safer than deleting. Hopefully a real fix coming soon.

Re: Mint 13 MATE 64 bit locking up
Mine locks up too. I find if I close the lid for a few seconds and let the screen turn off, then open the lid it has a few black flashes, maybe some blue, and then comes back to life most of the time. I'm not using any propriety drivers. It's a tad annoying, happens multiple times a day.

Re: Which new laptops will run Mint12?
Agree about Samsung, I just bought a new Series 5 NP530U3B, it is the 13.3" model with the hybrid 16GB SSD and 500GB HD. I installed Linux Mint 12 on the SSD with my home directory on the regular hard drive. It is very responsive. Boot time is 12 seconds, I am not sure how that compares with re...
