Re: Firefox 81.0 is crashing

Thank you, Mamie_Jacqueline, for providing and elaborating all the details. :) Seems as if the crucial detail may only be the setting browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar . If it is absent or set to false explicitly, then all is well. If it has been set to true , the crash will occur. Seems as if the proble...

Re: Firefox 81.0 is crashing

Dang, I wonder if there's a library or something not up to what Firefox wants? IDK though. If you make a fresh profile, does it still crash? At first it did not but when I started to change things it crashed again, but you started me on fixing this. And, yes, Mamie_Jacqueline, most of the problem i...

Re: Changing desktop icon font color from white to black

Yes it works! The font is a little bit fuzzy though, like the shadow I noted in op. Notice it a lot more with the black than the white, you can see on screensnip, almost as if the characters are doubled up and slightly offset. I'm using mate 19.1 and the default font is noto sans regular .. I tried ...

Re: can't boot - initramfs prompt problem

Looks like my Timeshift is installed within my sda5. I remember getting a notification on install that Timeshift could not be installed on the NTFS partition. If I open Timeshift now, in the bottom right it says I have 4 snapshots and 35.5 gb available in sda5 .. I would think that is still a bit of...

can't boot - initramfs prompt problem

Linux Mint 19.1 Mate would not boot, tried mint 17.3 on same machine and it was fine. 19.1 recovery mode gave me a busybox similar to this https://prognotes.net/2018/04/linux-mint-initramfs-prompt-at-boot/ based on this article, I ran this command fsck <your file system path> -y and it looked like i...

Re: Firefox will not open

Does anybody know why firefox closes all open tabs when I minimize it ? On mint 17 and 18 it would just re-open all the tabs if I hit the shortcut in the bottom panel. I do have "restore previous session" enabled in the preferences. Chromium on Mint 19.1 is also doing the same thing .. it did not do...
