Re: Linux Mint 14 "Nadia" released!

There are may improvements in Mint 14, I really enjoy the Cinnamon edition. Great job for improving the MDM and the Software Manager. I was running Maya LTS, but after trying out Nadia 14, I couldn't help myself; I definitely installed.

Re: Linux Mint 14 "Nadia" Xfce released!

Linux Mint Team, Thank you for an excellent release. I already am Mintspired with Cinnamon on my laptop. I am new to the xfce edition that I tried with an old 6 1/2 years PC. I was impressed with how it breathed new life and speed to it. I wiped out Windows 8 preview and Windows XP by completely ins...

Re: Uefi buyers guide - good and bad bioses.

This is a great idea, especially for us Linux newbies. I will continue to check the progress on GOOD and BAD (U)EFI systems with windows 8 and Linux Mint dualboot. It will probably be a while before I buy another laptop, however, I just built a new Tower, all new components and I installed the Windo...

Re: Poll: Desktop environments

I use Cinnamon mostly on Linux Mint 13 as my Main OS. I really enjoy it, my favorite and I am sure it will only get better. For older hardware I like the Mate edition. The Linux Mint Team is doing a great job and I am slowly introducing Mint to family. We are winning over M$ users to Linux, which is...

Re: Linux Security and Viruses

I am new to Linux. I see more stability, but most of all I feel safer. I think it's great that you have the option to not run anti-virus and still be safe, or if you want to, clam-av.

Re: Do you run 64-bit or 32 bit Mint, and why.

I mainly use 64 bit, ideal for 4 GB RAM and more, but my laptop reads 3.9 so even if it were 3.5 it is still good. On older hardware and less memory I choose Mate 32 bit.

Re: Linux Mint 13 "Maya" released!

I use mainly 64 bit Cinnamon. I will remove Windows Vista and replace it with Mate on my first laptop from 2007. I like to build PCs and with Linux the possibilities are endless in exploration. Thanks Team Mint for an excellent Distro! I enjoy the codenaming with a female name instead of the "Precis...

A "Novato" to Linux, Mintspired from Puerto Rico

Hello Mint brethren, I am a newbie to Linux, and a convert from the MS Windows. I started off with dual-booting Linux Mint and Windows 7. At first it was with Live CD, then live USBs, and finally multi-booting USBs with different Linux OSes. I've tried KDE and Gnome,etc... I only use Windows occasio...
