Re: Alternatives to Flatpaks (et al)?
.... But if you install more than one of them, as said, they start sharing dependencies and the next ones will show as smaller and smaller downloads . Wait. What? I am confused. If these are totally self contained with their own libraries and dependencies as advertised, how does this (bold thing) h...

Re: How to draw simple arrows with XnView
I don't have a lot of experience with Flameshot GUI but it seems much simpler. Tool options can open on the side of the screen with thickness, color, text fonts, and so on.

Re: [SOLVED] Change xfce csd title bar font color
This might work. .csd .titlebar * would seem to pick up everything on the headerbar so in place of the previous code you could simply use: .csd .titlebar *:backdrop { color: black; } Not sure if there would be any unintended consequences of using an asterisk as wildcard but worth a try. In addition...

Re: [SOLVED] Change xfce csd title bar font color
As for the buttons, you could try: button.titlebutton.minimize:backdrop { color: black; } button.titlebutton.maximize:backdrop { color: black; } button.titlebutton.close:backdrop { color: black; } But if there are other elements in the headerbar you want to change, I am not sure how these would be ...

Re: [SOLVED] Change xfce csd title bar font color
Thank you for the solutions michael-hi . It is worth mentioning that the .config file may be good for testing these changes but a better long term solution would be making the change to the theme instead (after it has been copied to Home). Otherwise when switching themes in the future there may be a...

Re: Firefox webcache is not cleaned
That is actually the wrong section for cleaning cache when FF closes even though it looks like that is what it does. Please have a look at the section on "How to clear cache on Firefox automatically" at https://www.businessinsider.com/how-to- ... he-firefox and see if that helps.

Re: XFCE problem grouping windows
Hello. I want to group windows like it was Windows 10. However, when I click on the pinned taskbar window, it opens a different windows instead of using the same one. It looks ridiculous and not functional with the repeated windows, like something malware do on Windows lol. Anyone knows how to fix ...

Re: Firefox 89.0 update last night and ugh!!!
I was looking forward to the release of 89 because the View Image Info in the context menu that was removed a couple versions ago was returned - they do listen when enough users complain. The new tab bar was disappointing though and I am glad it could be reverted with an about:config change. I actua...

Re: window tiling like popos?
cretsiah I have not used pop os but I can say that XFCE has a couple tiling options built into the WM. I don't know if windows can open without an overlap but if you have the windows you mentioned open !without overlap! place your mouse pointer in a window corner and while pressing your modifier ke...

Ivy_Pool love the picture of the kingfisher bird in the rain - I grabbed a copy for a wallpaper. rossdv8 thanks for posting about the convert command. Thank you for the script - I will give it a try with my new cinnamon install. Would you please describe the icon set and GTK theme elements you use in the screenshot - looks like a good match for the default e theme.

Re: Font Viewer doesn't launch from GUI.
It looks like the patch is in testing stages and the update will hit us at some point in the near future.
FWIW you can follow the trail of why the bug happened but I don't think it matters much to anyone except historical questioners.

Re: Font Viewer doesn't launch from GUI.
It was my impression that the bug is not one that belongs to Mint or Cinnamon but rather Ubuntu. Would it make more sense to contribute to the existing bug report like the one referenced in my first post: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-font-viewer/+bug/1607937 or another: https://bu...

Re: Font Viewer doesn't launch from GUI.
A recommendation was made in the Linux Mint Blog http://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3051, comment 284, to delete the line "DBusActivatable=true" in /usr/share/applications. That location is incorrect for Linux Mint 18 and should read ".local/share/applications/org.gnome.font-viewer.desktop...
