VirtualBox install only has 32-bit options?

Hello, I downloaded VirtualBox 5.1.22 r115126 (Qt5.5.1) onto Linux Mint 18.1 Serena 64-bit, Kernel Linux 4.8.0-52-generic x86_64, MATE 1.16.1.
When adding an OS, the only options are 32-bit Windows systems, but I need 64-bit. What is wrong?

Re: Wi-Fi usually not connecting to mobile's hotspot

So, Mint laptop is not connecting to home Wi-Fi aswell now.
Other devices can connect to the home Wi-Fi.
I don't think the Wi-Fi card is broken...seems to be some odd Mint config issue.

Re: Wi-Fi usually not connecting to mobile's hotspot

Okay, after resetting the mobile's Network Settings, Linux Mint would still not connect to the mobile's Hotspot? I rebooted the Linux Mint laptop and no Hotspot found. I ran the command sudo service network-manager restart I think the problem is about connecting Linux Mint laptop to the mobile Hotsp...

Re: Remmina not showing pop down panel to exit screen

OMG, this is finally fixed!
Remmina had an update. Update didn't work, so had to update from an untrusted PPA source.

Re: Remmina not showing pop down panel to exit screen

Ok, I've installed Mint 18.1, but Remmina is doing the same issue. Remmina works on older version of Mint. Would be nice not having to restart the client Mint computer. Remmina FAQ says they fixed this issue and I should update to the latest. I'm running Remmina 1.1.2 and ran the commands for the up...

Re: Crackle on new 3.5mm speakers

Ok, works when speaker USB power plugged into machine2 and speakers 3.5mm audio cable in this machine1.
Seems like a line noise issue.

Would be great to fix this machine1, but looks like another pair of speakers :-(

Crackle on new 3.5mm speakers

Hello, my old speakers (power cable and 3.5mm cable) were crackling and distorting sound, so I bought some new speakers (USB power and 3.5mm cable), but same issue. The new speakers work in my mobile phone. Earphones work in the Mint computer. I connected to the back green audio port into the sound ...

Re: Wi-Fi usually not connecting to mobile's hotspot

I reset the mobile and reset Mint 18 and seems to be connecting.
Would be good if I could use a Mint 18 command to reset the Wi-Fi network, which would be quicker than manually resetting devices.

Wi-Fi usually not connecting to mobile's hotspot

Hello, I can only connect my mobile's hotspot occasionally to Mint 18? I turn off and on the mobile's hotspot. I restart Mint 18 and no connection. The hotspot has connected, but maybe 5% of the time. I've tried some of these commands, but doesn't seem to help: sudo iwconfig iwlist wlan0 scanning rf...

Re: Need vino to run before login

Well, for now I'm using the better viewer Remmina...VNC is no good.

However, this is only after log in.
I think I might need PXE boot or some xserver command to enable before boot and use Remmina as the viewer.

Re: Installing LAMP on Mint 18 MATE

Well, reinstalled Mint 18, the installed the one line command for LAMP, but this forgets phpmyadmin. I installed phpmyadmin as per lkthrough https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-secure-phpmyadmin-on-ubuntu-16-04, but error: $ sudo phpenmod mcrypt WARNING: Module mcrypt...

Re: Reinstall and restore /home partition

Yes, I have data on disk2. Disk1 for the OS is a total loss each time. I'm not clear what you mean about 'to make everything'. I think this is what I'm doing now aswell. That is, forget partitions, just have disk2 for data and disk1 is the OS. Disk1 needs settings and programs installed each time a ...

Re: Installing LAMP on Mint 18 MATE

Yes, I can' get phpmyadmin to run on Mint 18. I installed AMP one by one rather than the 1 line of code, but not sure what to fix on phpmyadmin? Website won't load. http://localhost/phpmyadmin Not Found The requested URL /phpmyadmin was not found on this server. Apache/2.4.18 (Ubuntu) Server at loca...

Re: Reinstall and restore /home partition

After more research, it seems this partition is totally unnecessary. Programs and some settings cannot be recovered from /home. The 120GB disk is now shrunk to 30GB /. The remaining 90GB for /home is wasted, as photos and other data is stored on disk2, for the specific reason of the OS often needing...

Remmina not showing pop down panel to exit screen

Hello, I have Mint 18 64-bit MATE and Mint 18 won't display the Remmina pop down panel. This stops me viewing the local client machine. All I can do on the local client machine with Mint 18 is select the Menu button and restart the Mint 18 computer. Before Mint 18, I was able to manage the Remmina v...

Re: Reinstall and restore /home partition

Thanks, disconnecting the Internet worked.
So, I have a new clean disk with Mint 18 on it.
Will have to work out this partition /home thingy another time. Seems quite complicated. This could be a standard feature for future Mint releases, as this would be very handy.

Re: Reinstall and restore /home partition

Ok, I'm running a full reinstall for now, as I can't put it all together right now.
However, the installation is taking hours? I remember Mint being a super quick install.
Installing system shows code:
error resolving pool 3.ubuntu.pool.tp.org: Temporary failure in name resolution (-3)
