Thanks eanfrid. That saves me from the wild goose chase I was on, trying to get AAM to work on my Seagates. I see on Wikipedia that in 2011 Western Digital joined Seagate in not supporting AAM. The sound of the drive is pretty annoying. I wonder whether I could lessen it either by rolling back from ...

Hello, What I am trying to do: I have a dual-boot system with Linux Mint 14 "Nadia" and Windows 7. It runs fine under Windows 7, but there is a great deal of intermittent hard drive noise (fluttering sound) when running Linux Mint 14. From what I've read online, this might be fixable by us...

I had exactly the same issue with Linux Mint 13 "Maya" (Mate 32-bit edition). Apparently, my web browser must already be open in order for the links in the Mint Welcome Screen to work (at least in my installation). I tried reinstalling mintwelcome ; and tried setting my default browser app...
