Epson Aculaser C1700 drivers for Linux

Hi, I have searched a whole while for Linux drivers for my new color laser printer Epson Aculaser C1700. For your information, I finally found a solution, the following files for the Xerox Phaser 6000B work fine for me: http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-6000/file-download/itit.html?operati...

Which h264 decoder for smooth 720p plaback of MKV on Atom

I have tried many programs under Linux mint, including VLC and others, but I cannot get one of my files play at all without heavy stuttering. Is there a good sof...

Facebook Chat blinking in both Firefox and Google Chrome

Hi, I have installed Linux Mint on my Samsung Netbook (1024x600 screen resolution), and whenever I open the Facebook Chat Window, it keeps blinking, i.e. the list always grows one entry, and another person under "additional friends" appears, and a second later, that person disappears, and the list i...

Samsung N210: brightness works, how to disable screen backli

Hi, I have a Samsung N210 netbook, which works fine with Linux Mint MATE Desktop Edition, I have already installed the Samsung package to enable brightness-control using Fn-Keys, i.e. I can switch the brightness of the display without problems using Fn + Arrow-Keys. However, my Netbook also has a fe...

Re: Can I make the "Windows" (aka "Super)-key behave like in

Thanks, I guess I found the place where to change the key settings, but I am still a Linux noob: which process gets started when I select "Computer" or "Workplace" from the Mint-Menu? I cannot find that started process in the process monitor, in Windows the pendant would probably be "explorer.exe". ...

Re: How to move my Fiefox profile from Windows to Linux Mint

You can use Firefox Sync for this I think; it is built into Firefox itself and will let you share your profile. Activate Firefox Sync on Windows, then also on Linux Mint to migrate your profile. The steps are explained here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/sync/ Great idea, somehow I missed th...

Can I make the "Windows" (aka "Super)-key behave like in Win

Hi, I am coming from Win7 to Linux mint, and I really like the system, especially MATE is a very useful Windowmanager. However, I would like to add some behaviour that I am currently used to when pressing the Windows-Key (I believe it is called Super-Key in Linux). In case you are confused, I mean t...

Re: Hibernate ends in a failed boot

It's a good idea to read the release notes when installing any new OS, then you may have seen the following Hibernate (suspend to disk) has been disabled by default, as it was found to be unreliable, very slow and confusing to have two suspend modes. See bug 812394 for details. If you want to re-en...
