Ome option is to change the settings in /etc/default/grub to hide the Grub menu. Ok, if that's possible, then it would be nice. I'll try that later, if there's no other solution to it. Yes. [Solved]LM 14 and Windows 7 dual boot -Disk read error

Hi, I'm trying for a dual boot here with linux mint 14 and windows 7. I've made separate partition of about 15GB for LM and about 6 GB of swap, everything works fine on the linux part, except for the grub menu. I think your best option is to backup what you need, remove Mint and do a clean (full) install. And yes, you're pretty much correct, the whole Mint file system is contained in a couple of files on your existing partition. If you managed to damage it, you'd most probably screw up Mint as well.
