Up and down arrows in cinnamon's scroll bar
Is there a way to put back the up and down arrows in cinnamon's scroll bars.
Its a nuisance not having them when I have to scroll one line at a time on a long document - instead I have to very precisely drag the scroll bar up and down with the mouse.

Re: [SOLVED not] Freezing Panel and Hotspot
It turns out that not autohiding didn't solve the problem... instead it allowed me to click on the panel icons, which had become noticeably slow, clicking on them got them back up to speed and regenerated the hotspot. I therefore engaged the autohide and anytime it freezes (several times an hour) I ...

Re: Freezing Panel and Hotspot
I decided to switch off the autohide on the panel and this has stopped the constant freezing of the panel and stopped the simultaneous freezing of the hotspot - it was freezing as much as a dozen times an hour when viewing certain websites such as ebay or amazon. I prefer autohiding panels to maximi...

Re: How can I remove a previously installed version of Mint?
Boot into Cinnamon 13 and use Disk Utility (Preferences > Disk Utility) to format (as ext4) the relevant partition. Then do; sudo update-grub Which updates your bootloader. You can then go to Computer and open the partition (or use Disk Utility to mount the partition) which will then appear as a dri...

Cinnamon Freezing Panel and Hotspot
Every so often (perhaps once per hour) my panel and hotspot freeze. Everything else works in that I can open folders and open files, but my panel (which is on autohide) doesn't pop up (I can see the edge of its shadow at the bottom, so it is still there), similarly the hotspot no longer works. I can...

Re: Google UK
Many thanks, that did the trick, perhaps I will stay with Linuxmint - now if I can just sort this freezing panel and hotspot.

[SOLVED] Google UK
This is beginning to put me off Linuxmint, but I cannot perform the simple task of adding https://www.google.co.uk/ as my search engine of choice - all I can get is https://www.google.com/ which was irritating enough trying to find as Linuxmint made it so obscure. I am thinking I should have just in...

Re: Skype Test Video Button (or lack thereof)
Okay, I've solved it. First I renamed the skype binary in /usr/bin to skypecam, then I made the following script via gedit; #!/bin/sh LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skypecam I saved it as 'skype' and placed it in /usr/bin. I'd done this earlier but the path I originally had ...

Re: Skype Test Video Button (or lack thereof)
I'm guessing it is something to do with skype rather than my webcam because if I disconnect the webcam there is still no button.

[SOLVED] Skype Test Video Button (or lack thereof)
I've installed skype from the skype site on my 64 bit Cinnamon but there is no test button on the video option. My webcam works and can be used on 'vlc' or 'gst-launch v4l2src' - I've also done this; http://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/219 which works on Lucid. But there is no test button (...

Re: Cinnamon 13, 64 bit
I removed all the compiz stuff via synaptic, then just to make sure did (from Mint IRC chat advice);
Rebooted and everything is still working...
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get purge compiz*

Re: Cinnamon 13, 64 bit
I didn't install Compiz! It is installed by default, which makes me wonder why it is installed if it is not needed?Vincent Vermeulen wrote:Compiz doesn't support Cinnamon, so not much use installing it.

Cinnamon 13, 64 bit
Installed Cinnamon 13, 64 bit LTS and its all working well for the past couple of days - I was on Lucid 10.04 LTS but didn't like the look of the 12.04 Unity thing. Interestingly I haven't needed to install proprietary ATI drivers for my Radeon HD 4350 card, always previously I would need the propri...
