Re: Network transfer stalls when I select multiple files

I don't know whether this is the same bug, but when I try to copy stuff from my Nexus (MTP is bollocks) the transfer never starts, unless I select one file for the transfer in nemo. I had to copy my data using wget which was quite a bit more complex—though actually fun to do for a change—and I don't...

Re: Dvorak layout keyboard shortcuts or hotkeys do not work

Necromancy, this topic is the only relevant one I found on Google. Steps to reproduce Set keyboard to US-International Open keyboard shortcut application and assign "Launch Terminal" to <Super> + <R> Verify by hitting <Super> + <R>, terminal opens. Set keyboard to Dvorak Open keyboard shortcut appli...

Re: Fix for OpenGL issue on Steam

Sorry for the necromancy, the fix didn't work for me, I manually fixed it another way, it may be valuable to others. NOTE: The reason why it was broken was probably different for me than for the people who posted above. However, the error we got was the same. If their fix doesn't work, it may be bec...

Solution

I found a workaround for this problem on the #rhythmbox channel at irc.gnome.org. Enabling cross-fading in Rhythmbox (even when set to 0.0 seconds) makes Rhythmbox use a different audio pipeline. This pipeline does handle chained bit-stream Ogg Vorbis files correctly. See also: https://bugzilla.gnom...

[Solved] Rhythmbox chained bit-stream Ogg Vorbis

Hi all, I recently obtained some classical game music, that's encoded as chained bit-stream Ogg Vorbis, to save space. The music has many repeating patterns, and can be significantly compressed this way compared to other formats. I tried playing the music using my default player Rhythmbox. Alas the ...

Re: Skype 64-bits on Maya Cinnamon seems 32-bits

I installed skype the way you recommended, but it's still 32-bits. Then I realised that's exactly what you said. I'm not sure yet whether to install ia32-libs and use it, or just do without skype. Anyway, thanks for solving my question, and providing the link to the static package, solving the probl...

[SOLVED] Skype 64-bits on Maya Cinnamon seems 32-bits

EDIT: ANSWER: The package is 32-bit, right now there is no 64-bit Linux Skype client, the ridiculously large install can be circumvented by installing the statically linked binary (see next post). I have just today switched from Ubuntu Oneiric (DIY changes to GNOME3 shell) to Mint Maya with Cinnamon...
