Re: Mint-y theme and icons

Now using the Vibrancy-Dark-Green-Viva icon theme with Mint-Y GTK theme, and they blend perfectly, thanks!

Re: Mint-y theme and icons

Thanks for the feedback.
As for myself, I simply switched to a completely different GTK theme, and use the Papirus icon theme, which I like very much.
I really like the Mint-Y icon theme but the drawbacks are the toolbar icons color, and the fact it's still only available in green.

Same thing under MATE by the way, not unique to XFCE panel.

Mint-y theme and icons

Hi.
Using Mint-Y GTK and icon themes.
A few panel icons (sound and wifi indicators) are black on the black panel.
Do we need a Mint-Y light or dark icon set?

Thanks!

Re: Symlinks not visible in archives?

Just tried a live Xubuntu 17.04 session, and same thing...
I'll submit a bug report on Mint's Bug Launchpad.

Re: Symlinks not visible in archives?

I tried the same thing with Xubuntu 17.10 and it showed the same bug...
Using unzip in a terminal works, but that's not the best solution...

He's using Sourceforge, by the way.

Symlinks not visible in archives?

Hi. Mint 18.2, 64 bits, XFCE DE here. I got a gtk theme archive. (zip format) I know there are symlinks in the archive at a few places (I can see them when opening the archive in Windows) but opening the archive with both file-roller and xarchiver, the symlinks are not visible. Extracting the archiv...

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

Read the part about theme editing here (toward the end):
http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/gnom ... -more.html
He's speaking of Gnome 3 in his article, but it doesn't matter for theme editing.

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

This is due to the change to GTK3, as said earlier in this thread.

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

I see, thanks for the info!
I already read the GTK3 version was a big factor in theme rendering, when browsing opendesktop.org.
Better stay with safe and stable choices. :)

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

Merci, Clément.
Some GTK themes look weird, but it's a moot point for me, as many others are ok.
I'll install the xfce engine tonight and see how they look.
The repo offers gtk2 and gtk3-xfce-engine.
I suppose I have to get the gtk3 one?

All the best!
Encore merci!

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

Unfortunately the newest updates did not help me with creating toolbar launchers or dragging files to the toolbar.. The updates didn't help me either. When I hover the mouse over the toolbar launchers, I still get the text in english instead of my (french-canada) locale). Most themes are still badl...

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

I've installed Debian 8.8 MATE yesterday. It comes with the Menta theme by default, which is a bit similar to Mint-X green, but you can install additional themes through the repo. I download a lot of third-party themes from opendesktop.org anyway, so that isn't an issue for me. A utility I like very...

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

Bolle1961 wrote:"extract here" is gone from caja
Icons on the desktop are double (2x home, 2x computer)
When I right-click on an archive, I get the extract here option here. (caja 1.18.2)
I can concur the desktop icons are bigger though.

Re: MATE 1.18 updates

Thanks Joseph! Another one: I have four launchers beside the MintMenu; caja, mate-terminal, thunderbird and chrome. When I hover the mouse over these icons, I get the description in english. (I'm on french locale, and I have made french-canada the system-wide language already...) I have the same set...
