Re: Is printing broken in LMDE 201303 MATE 64-bit RC?

I'm using Mint XFCE and I have faced with similar problem.

Code: Select all

unable to open print file /var/spool/d00001-001 - No such file or directory
Only way to fix this is changing ipp:// to ipp14://

I know that this topic is solved, but if someone can't fix this error, than maybe applying this will help.

Re: Bluetooth not working on laptop

For me solution was:
Open terminal, and paste:

Code: Select all

bluetooth-applet &
after this bluetooth appears in system tray, but I couldn't enable bluetooth.
Then I paste in terminal

Code: Select all

    sudo hciconfig -a
again click on bluetooth applet and now it works.

Re: Linux Mint 8 Xfce RC1 Bug Thread

Hello, thank you again for this version of Mint. I have had one problem after installing and upgrading system (via aptitude dist-upgrade). When I try to reboot I have to type administrator password - after rebooting problem disappeared. I think that Firefox should be in 3.6 version - in my opinion i...

Re: Creating menu with Wine and favourites apps in XFCE.

viking777 thank you for your comment.
It begs the question though - why should it be that difficult?
Second question is, is menu issue is fault of XFCE, or WINE (or another apps)? I didn't have found any answers in specification on freedesktop.org (or maybe my English is too poor).

Re: Switching to XFCE edition

When I was testing Xununtu and comparising it to Mint XFCE CE - Mint was better, faster and nicer. Now I don't even testing Xubuntu, because I thing it is wasting of my time. Check it, and post here what do you think about it. Second distro which you should check is Jolicloud - it has few great solu...

Creating menu with Wine and favourites apps in XFCE.

Favourites Apps Menu it was something that (for me) always missing in XFCE. I have some apps which I using everyday, and I don't want to search them in menu. I have decided to make my own menu and share this “HOW TO” with you. All menu entries are in those folders: /usr/local/share/applications /usr...

After installing Linux Mint I have always setting my own kernel options, which are: 1 delete "splash" word 2 add "ipv6.disable=1" 3 add "vga=791" 4 change root from /sda1 to sdb1 Every time I upgrade kernel my settings are del...

Re: Mount firefox cache folder in tmpfs by default.

I have mounted ~/.thumbnails folder in that way. It has better performance now - I mean thumbnails appearing faster than earlier.

It's a pity that thumbnails folder could not be changed - If I could do this, than I could mount this globally (for all users).
