Re: I can't update my computer

I guess there's a reason why I'm always coming to this newbie forum. Now I tried it, and all seems fine. Thanks for pointing that out.

I can't update my computer

My desktop is a Linux Mint 13, 32 Bit computer, and I can't update it. I was away from it for a few weeks and now I get this (see picture) whenever I try to update. Then, when I try to partially update it, it won't let me even do that. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Re: GRE PowerPrep II Installation

I downloaded the PC version, and all was going swimmingly. Things installed, I got the program on my desktop and everything. But, when I went to start it up, I got the error box. Does Wine not come with the correct IE versions to use? Could it be something else?

GRE PowerPrep II Installation

It's failing miserably on my Mint 13 MATE. I get it installed, it appears to maybe work, then I get an "error" window whenever I try to open it.

I know this is a stretch, but, is anyone here able to help me get this to work?

Re: Updater outdated...I think?

Alright, after some tinkering around with both of the links, I think I have it ( the green checkmark has returned for now anyway)

Thanks a lot of the help. Sorry for how much I messed up. But, you helped me get this issue fixed, and I appreciate it.

Re: Laptop sound system not working

Alright, this is some of what was pulled up when I typed in that second code.

Distro Linux Mint Debian Edition
CPU: Single core Intel Pentium M (-UP-) clocked at 1400.00 MHz

What particulars do I need from this section of code?

I'll post in here again if something else comes up, but all seems well at the moment.

Re: MAJOR PROBLEM: Laptop has no Memory left

Okay, it was space. I ran the additional code. It ran the code and now it says this on the bottom line
"waiting for X server to shut down Server terminated successfully (0). Closing log file."

What should I do now?

Laptop has no Memory: SOLVED! Thanks administrollaattori

Last night I attempted to install some updates that claimed it would add/remove/replace certain programs. I figured it wouldn't be too big of a deal to do it, so I tried it. The laptop was acting really odd as it was trying to do this stuff, and when the updates didn't finish and started to act more...

Laptop sound system not working

This has been an issue for awhile now and I'm not 100% certain if it's my machine or the Linux system. I'm also not certain how to check which version of Mint I'm running at the moment, so I'm obviously serving as no help at all.

If someone could help, it'd be appreciated.

Adobe flash player update

When I try to watch videos on Youtube, it says that my Adobe flash player is "vunerable" and it needs to be updated. I'm trying to update but I do not know which version to upgrade to. I'm on the most recent version of Linux and I'm pretty confused here.

Re: Lock screen

I have Linux Mint 13. And I found what you are talking about. I was thinking more of, like, as soon as you turn the computer on, you have to use your password before being able to use the computer. Does that make any sense?

Lock screen (SOLVED! Thanks proxima_centauri!)

The MATE Panel 1.2.1 not showing the things I'm doing

I can't seem to see my things when I get on anymore. I can't minimize things without it disappearing from the face of the planet. I think it MAY have something to do with the lack of the three little bars on the left side of the panel, but I'm super confused. Could someone help me out?
