Left over artifacts
Mint 19 CE woes. Is anyone getting left over artifacts on their screen? Like the counter on vlc staying there after you have fast forward or rewinding the video by dragging the progress bar. Or the panel pops up as you are doing so? Or after hovering over a 'see more' link a story or page the whole ...

Re: Why I am back on 17.3 for now...
This is the buggiest install since, well it seems forever. Locks up regularly. Hard reboot is only way out. The 4.4 kernel should be abandoned.

Re: Installing a kernel
Not even reinstalling mintupdate brought up the -41 kernel. The -37 same as -36, no difference, between the two, on any driver. Looks like it's -24 without Nvidia for me. But hey, I am not afraid of kernels any longer.

Installing a kernel
I upgraded to Rebecca via Update Manager. It installed the 3.13.0-36 kernel. The Update Manager says 13.3.0-37 is recommended. With the *-36 kernel I can have games in crossover run smoothly or a splash screen, but apparently not both. With the Nvidia driver, I have a splash and games are jerky. Wit...
