Re: spices update procedure

I think updates are provided by a part circle icon next to the applet lock icon. It would be better if the applets could be updated simultaneously not individually or both

You might be better off using https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Downloads.html a more updated and secure version of Truecrypt. I believe Truecrypt is not supported and has not been for a few years

Re: Window manager broken after last update

I didn't realize that there was a downgrade available until I installed Cinnamon DE on top of my XFCE mint install. Cinnamon seems to work but I can't get back into XFCE. If I log out and select XFCE it goes straight to Cinnamon DE

Re: Is this compatible with Linux Mint 18?

Re: Brother MFCJ450DW not printing through USB

I am not sure which video you watched but Brother has a simple installer program at the link I gave you that should set you up. You need to choose the deb package and you need to know whether you are using a 64bit (probably) or 32 bit install of mint. EDIT: I have a wireless brother printer MFC-J995...

More thoughts from me too as this discussion progresses.... I wouldn't sweat too much over the Seagate versus Western Digital (versus Hitachi.... versus Samsung.... etc) choice of brands. It's true that intensive users of massive numbers of hard-disk drives can chart reliability statistics (as the ...
