My question is, is this because Linux Mint is set to use a TCP connection and because I used UDP it conflicted?
No. UDP is the correct protocol.
how can I remedy this the next time I make that UDP selection?
Try a different server.

Re: Install which driver for Areca ARC-1220 & Linux Mint ?

#1: When I look at the Areca website list of drivers at http://www.areca.us/support/s_linux/linux.htm for the ARC-1220 I don't see Linux Mint referenced. There are Ubuntu and Debian kits but I have no idea which to install in Linux Mint v18.3. ending checking the driver in Linux. How can I get info...

When VM exits does it release the full memory it was using " 2 gB " back to Linux Mint ?
Yes, it should but the linux kernel can actually hang on to it until it's needed. This fools a lot of people into thinking they have a memory leak when it's just the kernel caching.

No problem with noise here. I have so many fans that my machine levitates when I turn it on. I'm also deaf. Re: Trouble installing virtualbox

... Sorry, I forgot to add sudo to the rest of the command. Based on the error you report, the old VBox is still installed. Do this in a terminal: sudo apt remove --purge virtualbox* The code above assume you're using Mint 18.x. If you're using 17.x then change apt to apt-get . Afterwards, repeat t...

The microwave oven was created after British radar technicians noticed that their radar units kept th...
