Please don't post reams of text like that. Enclose it in-between [ⅽode] and [/ⅽode] code markers by selecting </> from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply.

Also, please describe what the problem is that you perceive.

Drives D,E and F are extremely important for me i have no backups for them outside this PC.
Invest in a small portable HDD and make a backup before your ventures turn to tears. You should do this before you do anything else.

Question #1: Does this seem reasonable to you, or am I asking for serious problems by trying Rosa as my Cinnamon addition?
You're headed for trouble, especially if you have to ask for support when you've mangled your system into complete uselessness.

Pretty much the only way to delete them is to compile your own kernel without the drivers selected, however you can blacklist the devices. See, for example, this.

I don't see anything about VLAN's on the network interface. Is there a package i need to download or is it still hardware restricted and thus I will need a USB to Ethernet converter for each PC to support VLAN's?
You may find this enlightening.

Re: How to take ownership of new partition

I don't remember now Neither of those links actually spell out what you must do to what. sudo chmod -R 755 /HardDrive /HardDrive is the mount point. sudo chown user:user That one leaves the mount point out entirely. Mount the drive using your file manager then sudo chown user:user /media/user/mount...
