In the Mint menu type the word 'log' and start the System Log application. Check the older syslogs for errors, specifically around the time that the machine last froze. To change from the current syslog to an older one, click the gear icon at the top right and, for example, open syslog.1.

In all, that lead me to beleive that it may be some problem with the WiFi card on computer 1. It's possible that the wifi device has been put into low power mode.
