Create a flash or DVD of the windwoes .iso and boot from it. Then follow the bouncing ball.

Re: nvidia-driver-435 or xserver-xorg-video-nouveau?
Next year, a massive 5 days away, I might upgrade my camera to 4K. Editing 4K will probably push my GPU and make use of the nvidia driver. It'll push your CPU hard as well. I run an Intel i9 9900K with nVidia RTX 2080 and transcoding just 1080p, let alone 4k, pushes it hard. Mind you, it does it qu...

Re: nvidia-driver-435 or xserver-xorg-video-nouveau?
On one of my computers, the Update Manager check thingy, System Reports, recommended replacing driver xserver-xorg-video-nouveau with nvidia-driver-435. nvidia-driver-435 is a meta package with unknown content. Using the funny System Reports update, instead of a regular Update Manager or the comman...

Re: Screen Tearing Problem
I think the screen tearing issue can be fixed... @roblm is the forum's premiere but unsung nVidia guru, and I have enough knowledge of nVidia to tell you that you're flogging a long-dead horse. There are two essential ways to rectify tearing. One is to have a fast and powerful video card that doesn...

Surely that is incorrect and should be specified without spaces.n_otmze wrote: ↑Tue Dec 24, 2019 11:53 pmCode: Select all

Install catfish. Nemo is useless at searching.shockedquartz wrote: ↑Thu Dec 26, 2019 10:55 amHello all.
Is there an easy way to search inside files from the desktop manager instead of grepping from the command line?
Thank you.

Re: unable to access or boot new ssd after cloning using clonezilla
is this something we can fix so i can boot the laptop with new SSD? This is going to require a lot of command-line-fu to fix. You have two choices.
