Re: [QUESTION] start Linux Mint 19 without X server

Doesn't it make sense if we are both dealing with the same issue not to blow up the board with multiple posts of the same issue? I'm sorry you don't like it but we need to work with each other. Re: Certain DVDs cannot be mounted/mount as blank

Can nobody help me with this at all? :( Even just trying to understand what's the reason behind it? They are not in bad condition; a couple of scratches, but as I said I've successfully mounted DVDs in far worse conditions so it seems like a software compatibility issue. I fail to see how it's a co...

Re: Can't find why laptop HP 6720s is terribly slow?

No explanation to this dichotomy. There is an explanation. The linux distro sitting on the live system is not the distro that gets installed. The two are similar but not the same. The live media is tuned to work on the widest possible range of hardware so it stands to reason that, while in most cas...

Re: Looking for backup answers.

I only have a dual core machine and am not willing to spend days backing up my system. Well, that's your choice If your data isn't all that important to you. You really don't need to do anything with Thunderbird if your mail service supports IMAP, and there's no point in backing up firefox if you r...

Re: No sound on HP Pavilion 15 AMD

Heyo. After four reboots the sound just started working. I haven't a clue why, as I didn't change any settings myself between the third and fourth reboot. Here's that output though. Maybe we can figure out why in case I ever have to go through this again. No, unfortunately we can't use that output ...

First I tried fake raid Created a raid 0 array in BIOS said it was created as volume 1 but it doesn't show in the boot setup That's because you're doing it wrong. I just wanted to get to the interpreter so that I could test the examples in the tutorials that I was following.
Python3 is part of the standard installation. You have no need to do anything other than type python3 in a terminal.

Cheers.
