Re: Why So Many Bad Kernels.

Did you submit a bug report to Ubuntu .... This is the reason why LMDE is getting more attractive to me. The main edition Linux Mint stability depends on Ubuntu. LMDE stability depends on Debian. All of Linux stability depends on Linus. Same difference. I just love false dichotomies :)

When you install unsupported kernels, you're essentially on your own. Good luck with that.

Re: BSDCan 2018: The Tragedy of systemd

This topic has been done to death, and every once in a while someone comes along and tries to reignite the flames. If you don't like systemd, use a different distro. End of story. This is what I love about Linux Mint community and the reason why I don't interact much here anymore. You clearly have ...

Firstly Vino just wont work Second issue, is that I move files around between machines ( I have a project which creates files on one machine and I transfer to the other so I can do stuff with them), normally I simply right/centre click to move files in nemo but now all this does is copy not move. 1...

Re: Installing KDE Plasma on Mint 19 Tara (Cinnamon)

I have installed Plasma KDE upon a Mint 19 Tara Cinnamon ─ then removed ( most of ) Cinnamon ─ and it is fine after 6 intensive working days, now. I have made a detailed report ─ unhappily in Portuguese ( pt_BR ) ─ but there is a Translator button at the topo of the right column. Sorry, this column...

To correct my mistake, is it as simple as just changing the name from bacup to 'bacKup' in the mdadm.conf file and rebooting or do

Re: Adding geo-Google to firefox?

I wondered if there is a Google UK string to change these? browser.search.defaultenginename.US;data:text/plain,browser.search.defaultenginename.US=Google That one there is likely to be the culprit. There used to be an option in FF to set the search string manually but it was removed last year. I su...

Re: KDE Neon on Bionic progresses

While I admit I have not kept up with all the latest alliterative names Canonical has foisted upon their distro, that's not the problem. This is really more the community's problem. I mean, if I can do a Google search for bionic + software and what I get contains not even a whiff of references to U...

I thought that the security of Linux was one of its strong points. Access to your system requires permissio...
