Re: Long time without get any update

Copy from debian doc: After a while, the "testing" distribution becomes truly `frozen'. This means that all new packages that are to propagate to the "testing" are held back, unless they include release-critical bug fixes I'm getting almost everyday updates, so you can figure out...

Re: Long time without get any update

the point is.. how comes that Nadia has higher version of packages than LMDE? And I'm running right now Debian Testing and have newer packages than LMDE, so the frozen repositories theory isn't accepted anymore.

Re: Long time without get any update

The only part that make sense for me is the frozen repositories. We'll see after Wheezy release how often are the updates. When I used Ubuntu I never upgrade a version, but if I'm not mistaken, you could upgrade to the next version from update manager. So like the bigs UPs you do with LMDE. I'm not ...

Re: Long time without get any update

After a month and a half without updates (only Chrome has been updating) you really should consider "sell" LMDE with other slogan. This version isn't rolling release at all. It's a nice version, but no a rolling release one. As petrusminos said, this is most likely to a normal version of U...

[SOLVED]Virtualbox and USBs support

I have VB 4.1.18 (the latest from repositories, I don't use Romeo). I've downloaded the extension pack for the same version. But still when I want to add a USB device, there aren't anyone available (at least mouse, game pad, printer and an usb sticky should be listed). Anyone knows why? It isn't the...

Re: Why do you use Cinnamon?

Dude really, if you only want attention, go to other thread. We are here trying to talk about something serious and you only keep trying to underestimate others. You are showing zero knowledge about hardware with such comments. Do you know what means the word hybrid at least? Really sad behavior fro...

Re: Why do you use Cinnamon?

I don't know why you keep trying to show that Cinnamon is perfect and the problem is the hardware... It's hard to admit that it is far from stable for daily use? 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI Juniper [Radeon HD 5700 Series] [1002:68b8] if that is all...

Re: Why do you use Cinnamon?

Just noticed that I have the 1.4 and no the 1.6.7. Why? software is updated. EDIT: added Romeo and updated to 1.6. System crash in every start :P Maybe for you the shortcut issue isn't important, but trust me when I tell you that some people can't work without them. I only use the SUPER + arrows for...

Re: Why do you use Cinnamon?

Ok what you say, it's the hardware. Weird that Gnome, Gnome3, MATE, KDE, XFCE, Unity and LXDE worked pretty well with different distros (Debian, Debian Testing, openSUSE, Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Mint, Mint DE, Arch) but Cinnamon (tested in LMDE, LM14 and Debian Testing) don't due to hardware. Killer the bu...

Re: Why do you use Cinnamon?

It's hard to admit that it is far from stable for daily use? Oh yeahhh ! Because Cinnamon 1.6 is rocking stable in LMDE. I didn't had any of the problems you described. You should start considering you're wrong ;) Just read this forum. I'm not even telling you to search in Google, just read topics ...

Re: Why do you use Cinnamon?

Gnome's Mutter had long time trouble with running on Catalyst drivers. This have been fixed since probably 12.4, but as far as I know, occassional glitches, artifacts and instability occur. Since Cinnamon and Muffin are based on Gnome, it shares it's problems on Catalyst. Maybe even has its own qui...

Why do you use Cinnamon?

After two days using Cinnamon I've been forced to leave it. - Basic actions such as shortcuts with SUPER, or Print Screen don't work. - Print screen don't work at all. It takes a picture of the system state time ago. - Full screen videos from websites such as Youtube or Vimeo don't work. The only go...

I'm pretty sure.

Size: 923.8 MB

Seems only the sources are bad. I just downloaded via HTTP and the image has the same size (923.8) but pointing to the right sources.

Re: Keyboard shortcuts not working ( mint 14 cinnamon )

Hi all, I have done some heavy searching. I am working with Mint Maya but upgraded to Cinnamon 1.6.7 through the back-port repository. Right away my keyboard shortcuts stopped working. I think that all this relates back to Ubuntu - found a lot of information on a bug description dealing with just t...
