Re: Shift + Print hotkey not working

These are all nice workarounds, but do we really want to keep this 'hacker' culture of linux users, where you have to fix everything yourself ? I believe not, so should be file a bug report about it? Maybe they'll fix the root of the problem, not the manifestation. What strikes me is the resemblance...

Re: Setting up Wifi with CA certificates and AES (CCMP) encr

Hi hawkeye315, In Mint 17.2 I was also facing some problems when connecting to eduroam. Mine just didn't want to connect automatically. The settings dialogue wasn't accessible. I went on and did manual connection by clicking "Connect to a hidden network". There I used the SSID 'eduroam', but I think...

Re: Auto close window of UpdateManager in 17.1

Hi, I also notice this problem, but even since 17. What is even stranger, it only happens on my home computer, and not on my work station, although they are both running the same version of LM, as far as I know, as I installed them at the same time. I wish I knew how to check. Any advice would be ap...

Re: Laptop won't suspend or hibernate after updating Mint

I also have the same problem with my Linux Mint 15 with Cinnamon, which I installed a few days ago. It used to work perfectly in Mint 13. It doesn't suspend on lid closing (although it is set to), and it doesn't suspend when clicking from the menu. But when I click 'suspend' (from menu > quit), the ...

Re: Keyboard shortcuts not working ( mint 14 cinnamon )

Very interesting is that the shortcut for 'Home Folder' appears not to work ... unless you're insistent haha. What I mean by that is that a normal press of "Super + E" has no effect, but if you double press it a bit fast, like a double click, that the home folder will pop up. Or if you press it for ...

Re: [SOLVED] Cinnamon 1.6 - how to set workspace name

Do you know how we can set empty names?

Actually, I don't want the names to appear on the screen when I switch the workspace. Is there another way to achieve it?

EDIT: Found it. Cinnamon settings -> Workspaces -> Enable / disable OSD

Re: Mint 14 no sound

I am also having problems with a SB card. I haven't seen your post earlier, because it didn't show up in search. Anyway, none of your solutions worked for me. Gnome alsa mixer has no effect. in terminal version of alsamixer I can't find that "automute" option. I have no analog or digital output. I r...

Re: [Solved] ALPS detected PS/2 & Multitouch Gesture not wor

I do not know how to thank you enough for this. It worked on my Dell N5110. Now I have scrolling! :D either two finger or on the edge. Brilliant! Thanks again! Although I set my sensivity at maximum, the touchpad doesn't seem to be as responsive as before. maybe it's just me. What I mean is that it ...

Re: Cinnamon session starts as GNOME

After another few hours of searches, I've solved it.
Aparently, some proprietary driver has been installed from NVidia. All the problems dissapeared after I removed it via Preferences > Additional Drivers. I hope others will benefit from this.

<SOLVED> Cinnamon session starts as GNOME

I do not even now how to explain this. I had Cinnamon installed. I rebooted my computer and it started in an unfamiliar environment. I tried logging out and changing the session to Cinnamon, with no effect. I tried uninstalling Cinnamon and reinstalling it. No effect. The command env | grep XDG_CURR...
