Why don't you make a "remastersys" CD, then update to 7.04. You can let us know what happens :D

If it borks things you can install the remaster

BTW, I'm on dial-up, otherwise I'd do it and let you know.

Yeah and ugly

Set both OS to 1024x768 and in less than a week you'll be use to it.

It appears as though they were dumped before anythign happened at ibiblio though and they are starting to admit that. No need to sugar coat things or provide half truths. These are all good open source Linux Distributions so I don't see the benefit in trying to sugar coat and excuse. If they outgre...

Hi twarren, I forgot one important part  Remember the first thing you were trying to setup in networking ? Open it again and configure the modem part, in General tab check "Enable this connection" now in Option tab check "Set modem as default route to Internet" Click "Ok" but leave the Network...

gksu vs sudo

Is there a reason for using "gksu" to open an application with root privileges instead of sudo ? The reason I ask is I'm use to distro's that only use "su" instead of "sudo" "gksu"

Example: "gksu gedit" vs "sudo gedit" vs "su kate"

What does the 'gk' stand for ?

I've given most of the top distro's a fair shot, stuck with a few longer than I should have. IMO, KDE=PClinuxOS and Gnome=Linux Mint as the best, both work perfect on my 3 systems. The thing I hate about PCLOS is the menu, the thing I love about Mint is the menu. I'm not a big fan of Gnome so maybe ...

GNOME-dial up-the pain [Solved]

Hello to all. I really want to be a Linux Mint user but I need help. I have an external serial modem (dial-up user). For some reason I can't get on the internet with any GNOME distro, they don't see my modem...or I don't know what to use to find it. I downloaded Mint thinking the extra config tools ...
