Re: PC monitor display problem

If you boot from a linux cd or usb independent of your operating system do you still have the same issue? If you dont then perhaps this is a driver issue and you should not install the AMD driver. If you still have the same issue then try a different monitor?

Firefox vers. 67 ?

Just got the upgrade and noticed that the radar map (US) does not load. Its just the map. Can anyone verify they are getting the same thing? Just the white map.

Re: TeamViewer

Yes, Getting a blank response means it didnt find anything. If you run the locate command not as root then it just searches your home directory. Running it with root permissions will search the whole filesystem. :) Make sure that $HOME/.config/teamviewer directory is gone also. $HOME is a variable t...

Re: TeamViewer

Must do as root (sudo)

sudo updatedb

Most things that involve the filesystem outside your home directory need root permissions.

(Hows that for a fast reply) :)

Re: TeamViewer

I have not heard this mentioned so I will throw it out there in case it helps. After doing an uninstall of TV go into your home folder and remove the .teamviewer hidden directory. Then do a search for any remnants of TV on your system updatedb sudo locate Teamviewer* remove the leftovers and rerun u...

Re: PC monitor display problem

Check your monitor settings to see if their is a reset or refresh option to re-sync your monitor to your video card. Also, Check the specs on your monitor and then look at your graphics settings in linux mint. Perhaps they do not quite match and need some adjustment. Can you post what video card you...

Teamviewer9 on Mint 19.1

Bummer... I have a license for TV9 and runs fine on Mint 18.3 . I fired up a VM of Mint 19.1 to test it out and I noticed that TV9 does not run on it. The latest version of TV does run. I fired up TV9 in a term window to look for errors in loading and got none. Looked a bit thru the logs for TV9 but...

Re: Questions about ddrescue

I do believe that ddrescue is an offshoot of dd. I have just always used dd when cloning drives. It works fine for me. cloning /dev/sda to /dev/sdb dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb conv=sync, noerror bs=2048 If I want to clone the second partition of /dev/sda only: dd if=/dev/sda2 of=/home/coffee/images/sd...

Re: Recent Mint installation occasionally fails to boot up

If possible, Swap the internal hard drive to the external box and put the ssd in the computer. See if you still have difficulty booting. The objective is to see if your external box is indeed the issue.

Re: Dropbox's New Rules

You can't trust a cloud provider to continue to provide a service. I dropped Dropbox long before it decided to begin a Linux withdrawal. Don't trust cloud services! I echo the same thing to a lot of people. I do not trust "The Cloud" anything. This is your data and it should be kept local at all co...

Re: Recent Mint installation occasionally fails to boot up

What I would do: First rule out the SSD having some issue: Remove the SSD and just put in some spinner drive in it. Install 18.3 and test again. See if your problem is gone. If you have two sticks of ram in it - 2GB each then try checking your memory by taking one out and then test, Then swap the st...
