I have not noticed anything yet on my end with adblock. I think UT will test certain features out in select areas before rolling it out to everyone.
Im sure in a short while adblock will have a fix for that too. That's how everything seems to go in linux

Re: Do I need to turn off BitLocker to install Linux?
Ill give you my opinion on this subject and you can go from there. Iam seeing a lot more posts about bitlocker and secure boot so I will comment. If your ditching windows and never loading it again then just wipe it and run the LM install on the drive. If your going to keep windows then go into the ...

Re: Comments and suggestions
Perhaps Linux is really doomed to a tiny niche of computer enthusiasts and their closest friends / family. I'm not yet ready to throw in the towel but I am also far more discouraged than I used to be. Most of the issues that I see for people adopting linux are that they have a brand new computer an...

Re: Backup of different web mails to external drives
Thank you @coffee412 for your suggestion. In such a way, can I later open the folder / container of a certain mail account in Thunderbird when I need to search for a mail or content in the mail? Attachments will be included, won't they? Thank you in advance As jdph said, Yes. Just remember that the...

Re: Linux Mint is destroying my new USB sticks!
I have seen this before with bad drives. Even though these are brand new there seems to be an issue with them. Of course this link below refers to the Sandisk Extreme Pro which is a usb 3.2 ssd/stick. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/sandisk-extreme-pro-failures-are-due-to-design-flaw So, If you ha...

Re: Battery constantly on same percentage
I just want to comment on a related experience on batteries I had. In the bios of some (all??) laptops you can select at what point you want it to start charging or whatever. Perhaps this is set wrong for you? I have never really seen this option until recently and I guess its to preserve or extend ...

Re: Backup of different web mails to external drives
Perhaps this is an option for you. In thunderbird you can take one of those accounts and select all the emails, Choose copy and then click on the "Local Folders" (and even make some folders inside) and paste them there. That way they are stored all locally. From the local folders you can b...

Re: CPUs some better than others
Agreed, the new Intel chips are reportedly blowtorches, and must be water cooled. My current desktop on the Windows machine is a Ryzen 1700 at 65 watts TDP, and it works just great. Intel got lazy for years. Then AMD stole the crown. So, Intel has to come up with something to combat the Ryzen's. So...

My GF's Laptop is an old G700 and runs really good with LM. Its got a pentium in it. Go figure(?).
I think they probably have some bios tweeks is the best I can think of.

Re: New Asus Mobo / I7 CPU won't boot
Can you verify that the PS is actually good? An idea - take the PS to a shop and see if they would hook it up to a used system there and verify it works. If it has an issue then you are already there and can pickup a new one. On ATX PS there is a 'Power enable' or 'PS ON' pin on the 24 pin connector...

Re: New Asus Mobo / I7 CPU won't boot
I did look at the mobo manual and I'm pretty sure the additional 4 pin connector is only required if you are running a powerful graphics card and overclocking. Humm. Most video cards of the higher variety have a separate power socket mounted on them for extra power. I dont know about overclocking a...

Looks like you need both the 4pin connector and 8pin connector. Does your power supply support that? See #5 in pic above.

Re: Brother MFC-L2700DW, prints but doesn't scan
Tip: When installing your printer try and use a network cable. This gives good speed and reliability. If you cannot then go wireless. Reason I say that is because the printer will then be available to all devices on the network as opposed to USB. After the printer is connected to the network run a r...

Upgrading python should not cause a problem.
Both versions are installed for compatibility I do believe. If its available in the updates go a head and update it.

Re: I/O errors on SSD?
You can use disks to check for any errors: Fire up 'disks' program and click on drive. Then in the upper right menu select 'smart data and self tests'. From there you can select a short test and see whats up. Although a disk can report fine but still have some weird problem. Just in case, I would fi...

Re: I hope to add the sound when cleaning the trash in System Settings-Sounds
Im sure someone will chime in with an answer. In the mean time, You can write a basic script to do this and make a launcher on your desktop for it. You could even put the script in your script directory and (caja) right click and choose empty trash and play a sound of your choice. Need to install so...
