You might want to note that this was penned almost a year ago. It was applicable to Grub only. Not grub2. :-)

You can however edit "grub.conf" directly. It just isn't the recommended way of changing it and can cause you some problems later on.

When you get home and get around to it, post a screen shot of your partition table taken through gparted. It is a partitioning program in your menu. Also, type /boot/grub/menu.lst into your browser url window and press enter. Post what pops up on the screen.
