Re: Easy Netflix Solution (!)

I was told 2 days ago, netflix is now working on a linux native client. Which is also removing the DRM. If my sources are correct, this is good news. About time.

Re: Google fights secretive national security letters in cou

Only thing I have against google is, they track everything. Even though they say it's anonymously done, is untrue. They have the records of the ip used, and search has a random number added to each search. Anything and everything can be tracked back using that. Even if one was to use a proxy. It lea...

Re: Why Flash should be banned

I actually like flash. Html5, I do not. The other night someone by the name Chris was on youtube and I walked right on his computer which happened to be using html5 to view videos. It's far from secure as of yet. Html5 also takes far more resources to function with the lack of hardware. While other ...

Re: How to Mint 14 (15?) on a pentium M no pae

I've been keeping the d600 up to date. Updated the kernel recently like any other linux based pc. Computer been running great, I've noticed lower cpu usage vs mint 13. It is a well worth upgrade in my opinion. Email and internet is smooth and quick for a 10 year old laptop, that most people would ha...

Somewhere on youtube page. You can disable it. I deleted the coding so it can never work in chromium again. Worse written software since java.

So yes... I did your uname -r and it says 3.5.0-26-generic.

I discovered something new. With mint 14, youtube videos are no longer choppy on the d600.

Re: How to Mint 14 (15?) on a pentium M no pae

Using kernel 3.5.0-26-generic from the looks of it. I used uname -a command, said samething.. So I dunno, no issues. Runs smooth. I'll try the -r once.

How to Mint 14 (15?) on a pentium M no pae

First of all. I am not all that up to speed with linux yet. Also, I used a old dell d600. So this isn't my main computer, it's more of a toy for playing on. So if the computer was messed up. No hard feelings. If you do this, backup backup backup. So my old d600 has the pentium M 1.5ghz processor (Ba...

Re: Which Steam games would like to play on Linux?

I am interested in seeing what the developer (Richard Garriott) of ultima online comes out with. He is now making a linux rpg called Shroud of the Avatar: Forsaken Virtues. I look forward to seeing it. There is some games I disagree with. I've been turning the heat up on some game developers to not ...

Re: Mint 14 sound not working on Acer laptop

I would use mint 14 if I could. But needs to be a pae cpu. I like 14 better. 13 asks for too many password if you use software manager.

Re: Fullscreen youtube videos in chrome browser lag.

I have a old laptop that it has a single core cpu. I use it mainly sitting on the couch to read stuff. So tinkered with this a bit. In chrome, they use their own flash called pepperflash. Sometimes if you disable it and use the firefox flash from adobe, it runs better. Chromium, does not have pepper...

Re: firefox in mint 14 is a bad idea

I am not one for firefox. Main issue is, it has too much customization. It has 2-3 different fonts you got to mess with. You need a addon so it keeps fonts the same scale size across the internet. I just see it as a poorly developed browser. A good browser only takes one button and it's set it and f...

Re: FACTS about the JAVA 7 'Zero Day' virus threat!

I still have no idea why people implement java into things. I hated java the day it was released, and still hate it today. Crummy software. Somethings people first do installing linux is install this or that. First thing I do is delete icedtea and anything java related. That such old recycled softwa...

D600

Is there a better version of linux for a dell d600 latitude? Mint 13 works fine, except for one thing. Flash videos is horrible. The video drivers for firegl 9000 are bad. If it wasn't for that, it will run everything else effortlessly. I tried looking for a driver like 8.24, didn't find it. I bough...
