Re: compile and install problem - rtl_power_fftw

OK. Sorted it. It seems the instructions on Github were a bit sketchy. I did the following and it installed OK:

Code: Select all

git clone git://github.com/AD-Vega/rtl-power-fftw
cd rtl-power-fftw/
mkdir build
cd build/
cmake ../
make
sudo make install
sudo ldconfig

(SOLVED) compile and install problem - rtl_power_fftw

I've been trying to install rtl_power_fftw which is an improved version of rtl_power for running software defined radio dongles. I've downloaded the files from github https://github.com/AD-Vega/rtl-power-fftw and followed the instructions: mkdir build cd build cmake .. make However, on the last step...

O.K. Thanks.
I'll mark the thread "solved" if the problem doesn't recur in a few days.

Re: Random screen resolution changes with NVIDIA card

Thanks, the latest 3.19 series kernel seems to have fixed it. So far at least. It's difficult to tell with intermittent problems. However, I've noticed that System Settings > Display comes up with the monitor being "Unknown VGA-0" rather than detecting the Samsung monitor. Also on boot up an error m...

[Solved] Random screen resolution changes with NVIDIA card

Hi I've recently converted my desktop machine from PCLinuxOS to Mint 64 bit Cinnamon and have problems with my NVIDIA Geforce210 card. I have a Samsung SM2333TN monitor and want to use the full 1900 x 1080 resolution. On first installation I had full resolution at first but after logging out the log...

Re: Problem with Kodi on Mint 17

I have Kodi 15.2 on my laptop with Mint 17.1 and the video works fine. It may be a problem with your graphics setup.

Having said that, Kodi has never been very reliable and there is little quality control over the Addons. Which video Addons are you using?

Re: Draftsight 2015 SP3

Found a solution at last: Unplug the mouse before launching Draftsight. Launch Draftsight and, when it has loaded, replace the mouse. It's a bit of a nuisance but quicker than rebooting into Windoze!

Re: Dual Boot with SSD and Sata Drives

If you must use swap it's better to put the swap partition on the HDD otherwise you wear out the SSD with excessive writes.

Re: hp-setup hplip failing with Cinnamon 17.3

Thanks but I have a Laserjet 1018 which is a bit fussy needing to have firmware installed at each boot up. I have found that only hp-setup works. Not really a serious issue for me as I have another printer as well but I thought it should be brought to the dev's attention.

hp-setup hplip failing with Cinnamon 17.3

Hi Planning to change from another distro on my desktop machine so I tested with Cinnamon 17.3 live disk last night. It worked well except that hp-setup failed like this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3521093/Screenshot%20from%202015-12-21%20.png Re-installing HPLIP didnt help. It didn't work ...

Yes, but it would be much more convenient if it will run OK under Linux.

[SOLVED -sort of] Draftsight 2015 SP3

My older version of Draftsight has stopped working, "Expired" according to Draftsight so I uninstalled it and installed the latest version, 2015 SP3. Now I have the problem that the mouse pointer lags and behaves erratically in the graphics area while behaving normally outside it. I have found the f...

Re: List view bug?

Just CTRL click on the first file you want in the list then SHIFT click on the last one. Much easier than the lasso method anyway.

Re: Manual VPN setup on Cinnamon

Thanks Robert but I have an account with iPortal. They provide instructions for Windows, Mac, iPhone, and Android. The Mate edition provides a method for setting up a PPTP VPN manually knowing the server address, user name and password. I'm looking for something similar for Cinnamon.

Manual VPN setup on Cinnamon

I have recently switched from Mate 17 to Cinnamon 17.1 and I can't find a way of setting up a VPN manually. I'm probably just looking in the wrong place  Can anyone help? If I go to Network Settings and click the + sign I get the VPN option. Click on that and the only option I get is to import...
