Re: Nadia XFCE and Dropbox - I'm a bit puzzled...

Just install nautilus and nautilus-dropbox via synaptic ?

Then set nautilus as the default file manager in xfce settings > prefered apps > utilities > file manager

Hasn't given me any problems in mint 13 or 14 xfce.

Re: <SOLVED> Xfce 14 RC: No Screensaver Settings

2) Disabled screen lock on lid closed in the Power Manager settings screen (otherwise, power management enables gnome-screensaver again). this isn't true for me. using xscreensaver and using power manager to lock screen on lid close works fine - gnome-screensaver isn't enabled. I have enabled xscre...

Re: Mint xfce 13 - black screen

is the laptop backlight on ? Do the laptop brightness contols work ?

some laptops boot with the backlight off on the login screen and you need to use brightness controls to turn it back on.

need to right click applet > properties > location > change > search

however the search lookup seems to be broken at the moment ? Maybe an upstream problem with xfce goodies ?

Unredirect fullscreen windows now working in compiz 9.8.6

Just recently updated to compiz 0.9.8.6 in mint 14 xfce. Think the update was via backports repo ? for the first time the 'Unredirect fullscreen windows' option (in composite plugin) seems to work perfectly. (also requires the regex plugin to be turned on). I've tested with intel hd3000 and nvidia 6...

Re: How to call up a search via WinKey?

you can install any dock like AWN or docky on xfce however you will need compositing turned on for them to work properly. xfce has a software compositor but its performance is poor. better to use compiz with opengl (hardware accelerated) compositing turned on easiest way to mange compiz is to use fu...

Re: Impossible to change date/time out of the box? [Live]

In 14 RC . If you install gnome-system-tools and gnome-control-center packages via synaptic : can't you access the gnome 'time applet' via the gnome volume control in the indicator applet on the panel ? click volume control in the panel > sound settings > all settings > date and time turn off networ...

Re: screensaver config mint 14 RC xfce

ok installed xscreensaver and set it up and all is working fine now. It even automatically turns off gnome screensaver when you launch settings and turns it off in the startup list. Auto screen lock working ! What was the point in removing this solid, stable and key piece of xfce for a piece of gnom...

screensaver config mint 14 RC xfce

mint 14 RC xfce now uses gnome-screensaver rather than xscreensaver. But how do you configure gnome-screensaver ?
I want to use it to set an activation time to auto lock my machine like I did with xscreensaver
