Mint 17 Cinnamon: Is there a working weather applet?

Hi,

I just did a clean install of Mint 17 Cinnamon.

I can't get the weather applet to work. I looked up and fed it a location ID.

Is it possible to get the weather applet to work, or another weather applet?

Thanks

Steve

Re: Mounting an Android Phone

I took Mint 14 off of my computer and put Mint 17 Cinnamon on.

The problem went away.

Thanks.

Mounting an Android Phone

Hi, I'm running Linux Mint 13. I just bought an LG Volt Android phone. When I hooked it up to my computer via the data/usb cable and choose to connect as a media device( on the phone menu ), the phone didn't mount. This happened automatically with my old Motorola Citrus. I would see it automatically...

Questions about modern larger monitors

Linux Mint 14 Nadia, GNOME I have a very old 14 inch ( thin ) monitor. I was thinking of picking up something more modern, used and bigger. Most of the big/contempoary computer monitors are wide. I've noticed that as far as video playback goes those wide monitors tend to do 2 things: 1. Stretch the ...

Questions Upgrading To Mint 16

I am thinking of upgrading from Mint 14 to Mint 16. Can my system ( below ) handle it? I pretty much have all of my data on an external hard drive, so it is fairly safe for me to experiment. How do I upgrade from Mint 14 to Mint 16? Is that less of a hassle than going a clean install? Thanks in adva...

Mint 16 and the weather applet

I am using Mint 14 nadia and GNOME.

I am thinking of upgrading to Mint 16.

I long ago gave up on the weather applet as running it continually crashed the desktop.

Has anyone noticed it not being a problem in Mint 16?

I didn't understand one word of your post :).

I'm new to smart phones and Androids.

Could you post me a link to a place that will explain what you did, but explain it to me like I am a total newb?

Re: How to fix: update errors about Medibuntu

Q: What was the Medibuntu repository used for? Are there alternatives? A: Medibuntu was used for just two packages (on 64 bit; I'm not sure about 32 bit as I don't have that here): libdvdcss2 - For playback of video DVDs; w64codecs - Codecs for certain RealPlayer 10 formats (RV30/40, COOK, and Real...

Re: How to fix: update errors about Medibuntu

I'm noting it here now because the past few days there have been multiple posts from users asking for help with errors they are getting during updating. While it had been announced earlier that the project was abandoned, it wasn't until last week I believe that the repository actually got shut down...

Re: Not Getting Update Notifications

The shield icon of the Update Manager will change to indicate there are upgrades available. As long as it shows a green check mark your system is up to date. It will show a blue circle with a white i to show upgrades are available… Unfortunately this might never happen :( , as the Update Manager se...

Not Getting Update Notifications

Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon 64 bit I have both the update manager applet and the notifications applet in my panel. In other Ubuntu family distros some sort of pop-up message would happen telling me when I need to updated packages. Automatically. This isn't happening on my computer. Can I make it so? Than...

Re: Using Gmail Video Chat or Another Easy Video Chat

How would I know if I had either built in?

My monitor is OLD. The PC is much newer.

Is Skype free? Some people have told me so, but they had listings for rates on their site.
