fre0r-plugins not in Synaptic

Hi,

On the advice of someone in another thread I installed OpenShot.

When I booted OpenShot up I got an error message telling me that the fre0r-plugin was missing.

I couldn't find it listed in Synaptic.

How can I install this package?

Thanks

Steve

Re: Making a video out of an MP3 and a picture

This worked: $ avconv -i audio.mp3 -i pic.jpg out.avi out.avi output movie was the length of the audio. Thanks! Very simple. The out.avi wouldn't work in the default media player ( Mint 17 ). It worked in VLC. When I tried to upload it to YouTube it told me that it wasn't in a supported file format...

FFMPEG?

I noticed that FFMPEG was not be found in synaptic.

I thought I would ask what the reason is before I tried a workaround.

Thanks much

Re: Mint 17, OpenVPN, where to find feed back

Thanks for the tip. I went there, there wasn't a subforum for basic end user questions. I posted in the closest thing to it and got no answer. I uninstalled OpenVPN and installed the cisco vpn that I found listed in synaptic. Same problem, same single line feedback message. Is the Mint 17 Desktop hi...

Mint 17, OpenVPN, where to find feed back

Hi all, I installed OpenVPN on Mint 17 When I attempt to login to my VPN account, it doesn't work, and the only feed back I get is a "fade in" box next to my task bar with a single line message: "The VPN connection MyWorkVPn failed" How can I get more feed back as to why it failed? Is there a log so...

Re: Mint 17 Cinnamon: Is there a working weather applet?

On the configuration screen try using the WOEID of USOR0304. If it gives you the Salem, Oregon weather then you know the applet works. That works. Unfortunately my WOEID does not: Washington D.C.: 2514815 I've tried with both a "US" in front of it and not. The get WOEID button in the applet goes to...

Mint 17 Cinnamon: choppy AVI file playback

Hi, this is an updated version of a thread I started earlier. I have new information. I recently replaced my ancient thin monitor circa the early 00's with a large Samsung SD300 monitor Playing *.avi files works fine until I go into full screen mode, then the playback gets choppy. Interestingly, thi...

Mint 17 Cinnamon: Is there a working weather applet?

Hi,

I just did a clean install of Mint 17 Cinnamon.

I can't get the weather applet to work. I looked up and fed it a location ID.

Is it possible to get the weather applet to work, or another weather applet?

Thanks

I took Mint 14 off of my computer and put Mint 17 Cinnamon on.

Mounting an Android Phone

Hi, I'm running Linux Mint 13. I just bought an LG Volt Android phone. When I hooked it up to my computer via the data/usb cable and choose to connect as a media device( on the phone menu ), the phone didn't mount. This happened automatically with my old Motorola Citrus. I would see it automatically...

Questions about modern larger monitors

Linux Mint 14 Nadia, GNOME I have a very old 14 inch ( thin ) monitor. I was thinking of picking up something more modern, used and bigger. Most of the big/contempoary computer monitors are wide. I've noticed that as far as video playback goes those wide monitors tend to do 2 things: 1. Stretch the ...

Questions Upgrading To Mint 16

I am thinking of upgrading from Mint 14 to Mint 16. Can my system ( below ) handle it? I pretty much have all of my data on an external hard drive, so it is fairly safe for me to experiment. How do I upgrade from Mint 14 to Mint 16? Is that less of a hassle than going a clean install? Thanks in adva...

Mint 16 and the weather applet

I am using Mint 14 nadia and GNOME.

I am thinking of upgrading to Mint 16.

I long ago gave up on the weather applet as running it continually crashed the desktop.

Has anyone noticed it not being a problem in Mint 16?

Re: How to fix: update errors about Medibuntu

Q: What was the Medibuntu repository used for? Are there alternatives? A: Medibuntu was used for just two packages (on 64 bit; I'm not sure about 32 bit as I don't have that here): libdvdcss2 - For playback of video DVDs; w64codecs - Codecs for certain RealPlayer 10 formats (RV30/40, COOK, and Real...
