Re: Supprimer Multiboot Windows

La solution la plus light serait de jouer sur Grub.

Ouvrir un terminal et entrer les deux commandes suivante:

Code: Select all

sudo chmod -x /etc/gurb.d/os-prober
Suivit de:

Code: Select all

sudo update-grub2
vista ne devrait plus apparaitre du tout dans le boot

The face picture on mdm

So when you install Linux Mint with a secured /home/<username> MDM is unable to retrieve the .face of the user. Would it be a good idea to set a specific directory to store the pictures like "<username>.face" or something like that to make it available at the login page? And if so, would it bring so...

Re: Cinnamon touchscreen

Yes that was a bit of my idea behind my question. Having the ability to port Mint to smartphones and tablet with the touchscreen. One day maybe.

Cinnamon touchscreen

Not really a suggestion nor an idea. More a random question. Is there any plan on developing cinnamon to be compatible with touchscreen? As this is the new feature implemented in modern laptops I was wondering if it was studied or if the team was waiting to see how many of these laptops are sold bef...

Re: Need To Change Default Operating System To Boot To

What I would do without editing anything or installing anything else: I would open a terminal I would navigate to grub config files: cd /etc/grub.d/ The next step is to rename the 30_os-prober to 09_os-prober as it is this file that tells grub where the windows boot file is: sudo mv 30_os-prober 09_...

Tapatalk and the tricky part of reply

So I have been told that I was removing the titles from the post in my answers... And it was true :( I have been investigating a bit and find out that each time I answer from my phone with tapatalk it happens. So I don't know where the bug or if I'm the only one to experience this but I wanted to ap...

Re: Black screen when booting from USB on Lenovo IdeaPad U33

My guess is that secure boot is still on in bios which will prevent Linux to boot after grub.

Re: Should I install linux on my laptop?

When you install Linux on a dual boot alongside of win8 you have to remove the secure boot in bios. Otherwise you won't be able to boot Linux. Dual boot will always be the best way to use your laptop at 100% on both OS. If you don't want to take any risk you can also replace the hard drive with a ne...

It takes you more time to install the new distro than to remove a few packages.
Most people are pretty fine with what is installed on the first place
Since you have enough knowledge to install new packages you can easily create a little script to launch after install. That's what I do.

Because banshee is used by many and you cannot satisfy every user. I use Clementine other may use Nightingale other may use amarok and so on and so on.
No reason to make such a big deal about what is installed. It is usable and enough for average people.

For the HDD I would choose Seagate sshd because they only run at 5400 rpm but use a 8gb ssd as cache. The advantage is to have faster data access with less damage risk on your HDD as it run less faster than usual HDD (7200rpm)

I have always maintained that "Linux is DOS on steroids". I still do.
I don't find Linux dirty. I find it clean and more than just a dirty operating system on steroids. :|

Re: Gros problème help me ...

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get purge libreoffice
it should remove all remaining files. Then make sure you don't have the ppa:libreoffice/ppa enabled. If so disable it.

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
to refresh and try to install it again. You can try to remove manually the file showed in the log.
