Re: HelpMe Installing LINUX MINT DEBIAN (Not booting)

either opensuse and grub is working so I guess it's not an EFI/UEFI problem. since you mentioned amd graphic it could be a graphical issue. I tried to look more information about the hardware and I found it's quite new hardware. the problem is that LMDE haven't got updated since Feb 2014 and your ha...

Re: virtualbox connect to oracle

this forum by any means is not linuxmint support center nor a bug tracker. if you want to solve your problem create a bug report to ubuntu and give them the evidence of virtualbox behaviour.

Re: when lmde 2 (betsy) will be available?

Debian Jessie isn’t frozen yet and a lot of packages are still making their way into it. The recent upower and GTK updates show that the base isn’t quite ready just yet. jessie is now in frozen state and these excuses is no longer applied. if you want to get LMDE 2, then ask them. gather some peopl...

Re: Team Fortress 2 does only start with -nosound option

any bug in LMDE won't get fixed this year and no one know when will it got fixed. it have been unmaintained for 9 months and won't get any bug fix at least until debian jessie got released. I'd say switch to main version or any other linux is your best option.

Re: Asus x200MA - Touchpad recognize as mouse

- So my question is, how can I patch kernel? 1. download the kernel source code 2. apply the patch 3. build the kernel 4. install it on your system - and it will work with old 3.11 kernel? if you succeed to install it on your kernel it [theorically] will work. else, you can download the source code ...

Re: Everpad

LMDE have 9 month development gap with current debian testing. you got 100% guarantee to broke your system if you upgrade LMDE to debian testing. the possibility to install something from debian testing without destroying your system is quite low. even if you succeed to install those package there's...

Re: when lmde 2 (betsy) will be available?

in case if you can't wait, you can get a kind of 'LMDE preview' by installing debian jessie. you can use cinnamon/mate from debian's native repo. when LMDE 2 got released simply add LMDE's repo then install mint's meta-package. the official statement said " We might be looking at Spring 2015, it’s h...

the safest way would be using ppa-purge to remove it but we can also remove the ppa manually via text editor.

Re: "Caffeine" and review in the Software Manager

that was to check whether if caffein installed or not. rather than leaving a review it should better if you debug it and report it to the bug tracker. we can start with running caffein from terminal.

Next upgrade you can lose the whole system because it thinks Mint13 is incompatible with the PPA. can you elaborate why? what is 'next upgrade' and 'package manager'. it would be better if you explain 'how system remember that I was forcing something on dpkg' and 'package manager' will broke my sys...

Re: After update-crash, mouse cursor gone!

the problem is that system doesn't know 'what to repair'. you need to do it manually via recovery option inside grub menu. I have a concern about this one I saw no note that I needed to shut anything down linux is designed to be able to upgrade the system without reboot. on most cases you don't need...
