Re: Mint 18 KDE - please make Plasma 5 work properly in Mint 18

A note to the Mint KDE team - pleeeeaaaassse make Plasma 5 work properly in Mint 18. I beg you! I will fight for the credit card from my wife for a donation if Mint 18 KDE works on my laptops - I swear! I will explain... OK, I am a KDE fan. But it's for practical reasons. Not only does KDE Plasma m...

Re: update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree

Go to the bug report page where Google emailed Debian about this (a different bug but hey, it works). https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=818540#34 Download the "linux_signing_key.pub". Rename it to "pubkey-google.txt" . In your file manager go to /usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree/ a...

Re: update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree

You are right.
Now it is up to date:

Code: Select all

~ $ sudo update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --status
Flash Player version installed on this system : 21.0.0.216
Flash Player version available on upstream site: 20.0.0.306
Question:
is (in general) the downloaded Chrome package then automatically deleted?

[SOLVED] Sha256sum wrong? No :)

Hi. I have downloaded a few minutes ago Linux mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64bit from a German mirror. I have checked the md5sum and the sha256sum. But the latter seems different compared to the one provided on the download page: $ md5sum linuxmint-17.3-cinnamon-64bit.iso e71a2aad8b58605e906dbea444dc4983 linu...

Re: Firefox 43 and Gmail issues

New Firefox version (44). I've tried to revert
network.http.spdy.enabled
to
true
(as it was by default) and it works.
Great.

Re: Two linux laptops, huge connection speed difference

I have tried with a cable. As expected, there is a huge difference. Wifi: 4-6 Mbits/s Wired: 90Mbits/s In case I'd like to change it, which replacement card (linux compatible and supported by motherboard)) would you suggest? (apparently is really easy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-IiET1qxns ) T...

i'm trying on her laptop with a solydK EE live image. Re: [SOLVED] Chromium uses AdobeFlash instead of Pepperflash

No, it wouldn't. That's why I downloaded the package from Ubuntu's 'partner' repository to check. As I wrote yesterday, that file is indeed provided by that package. Which I think is a bad idea as it confuses Chromium. But I didn't check the actual version details of that file, so I wondered what w...

Two linux laptops, huge connection speed difference

Hi. I have a Packard Bell laptop with SolydK64 and my girlfriend has a HP laptop with LM17.3 KDE. We are in the same apartment, sharing the same WIFI connection (no cable access available). But she has noticed that her system in internet performs a lot slower compared to mine. I have therefore perfo...

Apparently solved changing

false

Re: [SOLVED] Chromium uses AdobeFlash instead of Pepperflash

So the package adobe-flashplugin 'owns' a pepperflash plugin? Curious. Let's have a look... So it does. I didn't expect that and I honestly don't think it's a good idea, as it obviously confuses Chromium. I wonder what happens if you keep that one and disable the other. Honestly, it could be that t...
