Re: Which Steam games would like to play on Linux?

I would love to see the whole Crysis franchise and Battlefield franchise in Linux. I know it would never happen, but I would love it! Well one should never say never. Okey thanks. I updated from 319 to 331, but I can´t really say I notice any difference so far.

Re: Which Steam games would like to play on Linux?

Thats funny, why even bother with a DVD if there is nothing on it and a note saying "download the game from the internet"? Well I guess it´s because there´s still installation files on it for Windows and Mac. But I suspect that Windows and Mac users still need to download some parts of th...

Try if you get more luck with the Bumblebee driver!
Are you sure one can use Bumblebee on a desktop? As far as I know the Bumblebee driver is for laptops with dual GPU´s.

Re: Which Steam games would like to play on Linux?

That's good to know, how easy was it to setup? Do you just get a .deb file? I was thinking about getting a hardcopy purely because I can get it cheaper here but was wondering how they put the file on the disk, so if it's a .deb then that'll be easy to install. Any other problems like changing to wi...

Re: Which Steam games would like to play on Linux?

For anyone that plays Football Manager it's now native to Linux through Steam, can't wait until payday now! I already got it. I pre-ordered it about a week ago. Bought it retail though as I wanted a case in my bookshelf with Tux on it. Might not have been worth the extra ~3 euros for retail instead...

Re: Build a Killer Linux Gaming Machine for $430

An aside - I have ordered Mint Box 2 a week ago  and waiting for it to arrive...of course it is not a gaming rig but intend to use it for general computing.. You should be able to play a lot of games on it. I have similar specs on my laptop, and I can play many of my native Linux games on ...

Re: Odd sound issue during some games.

Thanks :) I've been searching from time to time looking for other solutions. Since it's only those two games I decided to play them a lot less and concentrate on the ones that work well but my inner gamer is not happy with that. No problem. I wish I could be more of help. I understand, I have some ...

Re: Odd sound issue during some games.

Well then it´s not weird that you can´t install the 32-bit packages. I´m sorry but I have no more ideas on what it might be. I don´t know how much you´ve goggled, but I guess that´s the only way. Unfortunately there aren´t much activity in this section of the forum, you can try the hardware section ...

Re: Build a Killer Linux Gaming Machine for $430

I built a similar rig a while back ago, see my signature. I would not call it a "killer Linux gaming machine" though, even if I got more ram and a little bit better GPU. Don´t know about the CPU though, their´s might be better. Edit: By the way, a PCI-Express 3.0 will work in a PCI-Express...

Re: Odd sound issue during some games.

This is a long shot, but it might be that you need the 32-bit packages installed. Try to install them by typing in the terminal: sudo apt-get install ia32-libs libxrandr2:i386 I got this E: Unable to locate package ia32-libs Okey. Are you running the 32-bit Linux Mint version or the 64-bit?

Can´t update anymore

I wasn´t sure if to put this here or in the hardware section, but anyway. I can´t update my system anymore, there seems to be an issue with Oibaf drivers. When trying to update I get: E: Encountered a section with no Package: header E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/ppa.launchpad.net_oiba...

Re: Few questions about PC gaming on linux (New starter)

(bongs on the head for you being a moron) no one who realy loves linux would use a Nvida graphics card. Yeah I still hate them and so does anyone who loves linux. Yeah that might be another issue. I always build desktop computers myself, that way I usually save some money too. Is there any chance you could build the computer yourself?

Thanks for the reply :) so i suppose an GeForce GT 640 should be ok? No problem. Yeah I think so. I myself are using a GeForce GTX 650Ti and it works perfectly for gaming. Thanks for replying. I fallowed the guide but it didn´t made any difference. How can I install a different kernel? I assume you mean the Linux kernel itself?
