Re: Gnome + KDE + XFCE ?

I´ll be postponing futher test with rtk on mint till final x64, I can´t do valid comparisons between ubustu x64 and mint x32. More even: I´m testing in Virtual Box (sun) on Vista x64 as host. Appa...

Re: Gnome + KDE + XFCE ?

All in all, I really prefer Mint over openSUSE and Mandriva. I still have not tried Ubuntu. Ha, ha, ha... Don´t try, not that its bad, in some way it could be better if your like a distro installing tons off apps for you, me I prefer to select what I install and what not ... Ubuntu is nice ... but ...

Re: Gnome + KDE + XFCE ?

I know openSUSE has one of those "everything" DVDs that is just over 3 GB in size. It has all the desktops, plus a copy of most every application you would need to install additionally. That type DVD would be perfect for someone on dial-up. It is a monster to download originally, but covers all the...

Re: rt kernel and lmms

ElQuia I don't know if it's a good idea to run a program as root. Yep, I know. I was just trying to diagnose the thing .... All OS's are like a work-in-progress. No matter how much one learns there's always more to learn. And thats a truth if I ever heard one :!:  I tried 64 studio also, in ma...

For Admin a question Real Time Kernel

Hello guys. Short story: I´m a newbie in Linux, long time win user. Started with this, looked arround, tried distros and decided to focus on Mint (very cool work). One of my activities is audio editing and mastering. Started to look into the realtime kernel thing. Installed it, got it working on Min...

I started the post related to the Release of x64, there went the kernel stuff, and there went the audi...

I´m having the same problem as LinuxForever. Maybe tomorrow (time pending) I´ll install Audacious and see if it has the same problem.
Anyone who is into audio production and knowledgeable in Linux (I'm a noob) can help :?

Re: Real Time Kernel ?

It would be cool to use rt kernel by default in distros then :!: why don´t they :?: OK Here it is: had to revert to snapshot and reinstall the kernel-rt package (Im learning along), after that, to be able to use VBox additions, I had to look for and Install the build and header...
